Onward Stationery Stores was founded in 1953 by Chief M. Obagun. He started began buying and selling paper just after leaving school.
First, he bought locally, then grew to begin getting wholesale imports.
In 1973, he launched Onward Paper Mill, makers of the legendary exercise books Onward Notebook.
Today, Femi Obagun, his son, is now the majority shareholder and Managing Director of the firm.
