Togolese Activist releases Video of Yemi Alade endorsing the President | WATCH
Farida Nabourema, a Togolese activist, recently called out singer Yemi Alade, saying she supports political oppression in Togo.
In an emotional interview with Sahara Reporters, the activist said she was very angry with the Nigerian singer, and would curse her if she runs into her on the street.
“They are embellishing the image of a brutal dictator just for a couple of thousands of dollars,” she said.
But when questioned, the singer’s manager Taiye Aliyu denied the claim, saying she performed in a festival in the country.
However, Nabourema, on her Twitter, has released the video of Yemi Alade singing in support of the Togolese president Faure Gnassingbé.
In what is a campaign video for the president, Yemi Alade sings and dances with the Togolese flag behind her, calling Faure Gnassingbé the One.
