The Lion King Soundtrack is “a love letter to Africa,” says Beyoncé in Upcoming TV Special | WATCH
In an exclusive interview with ABC, Beyoncé opens up about “The Lion King” music, saying “the soundtrack is a love letter to Africa”.
Beyonce, on Tuesday, released the tracklist for “The Lion King: The Gift” album which she curated and produced.
“I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa and not just use some of the sounds and did my interpretation of it. I wanted it to be authentic to what is beautiful about the music in Africa,” she told Robin Roberts.
Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Mr Eazi, Yemi Alade, Tekno are the Nigerian artists who will be featured in the album.
Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale, and South Africa’s Busiswa and Moonchild Sanelly are also featured in the album.
The special feature, set for release tonight (8pm ET), also includes interviews with cast and crew of the movie.
