BN Red Carpet Fab: Hip Hop World Awards 2009

The 2009 Hip Hop World Awards carried its bags off to Abuja this year. Leaving behind the pomp and pageantry of last year’s edition for a fresh experience in Abuja.
The awards ceremony was supported with generous sponsorship from MTN so everyone had grand expectations.
How did it work out?
No doubt, the 2009 Hip Hop World Awards was a great effort. Even after all the hullabaloo surrounding the nominations, the winners list is one that most music lovers will be cool with. Banky W and Kemi Adetiba did a great job as hosts for the night
9ice was the king of the night as he scooped away 3 awards while Omawumi firmly established her place as the emerging QUEEN with 2 awards including the highly sought after ‘Next Rated Award’. The main buzz of the night were the performances – a surprise onstage reunion by the Trybesmen alongside rousing performances from many of the nominees and eventual winners including MI, Kel, Iyanya, 2Face alongside Sound Sultan, Darey with his band, Lord of Ajasa and 9ice. The major downers were the late kickoff time, lack of the usual star power on the red carpet and the scanty venue. Not sure why Abuja didn’t come out to show love for the HHWA but overall, the night flew by on a high note.

adaeze igwe was the best for me,she was looking very beautiful and highly attrative.
omawumi looks not so up to scratch,ditch what we call in sa pentihose.i like the dress and it suits her.what are you scared of?show what yo mama gave ya!

first things first: people pls take a good look at what omawunmi is wearing? what’s that? i realize the general idea might hv been to try the whole baby doll look. i dont think it worked though. i’d say the only thing she’s got on that i like, are the sheer tan coloured tights.
secondly i dont believ miss oforka should wear that dress out in public again. it reminds me of a night dress and a breast feeding mum. maybe its just me, i’ll say something less busy should work next time.
for julius agu; very daring combo…pulled it off except for the shoes…WHY,WHY,WHY?

Best dressed 4 me was Munachi chick… looking very classy… LBD neva goes wrong! MBGN Universe Stephanie… like the look she pulled it off completely… Omawunmi the dress in on point but either skin coloured tights or black tight infact with different shoes wud have been a better choice but u stilled looked good jo KMT any1 dat is h8tin

Thnx 2 evryone dat commented on Chidi’s turtle neck thing. … I had to ask my self several times if dis show was held outside Nigeria, for goodness sake, 9ja is too hot 4 turtle necks and tights… Munachi looked d best, she is indeed a beauty queen, Dakore and Stephanie looked good too…. Banky looked tewww maddd…….As 4 Omawunmi, im sooooo not commenting………….. ATROCIOUSSSSSSS OUTFITTTTT (sorry, just cudnt hold it back lol)
Oooohhh! Omawumi… the dress is cute, but the stocking and the clunky shoes are a definite NO NO!
Dakore, 2Face, and Manuchi are looking hella FINE!
Some gorgeous outfits here! But there are some OFF ones too. E.g, what is Justina wearing?! The dress looks cheap & those tights are a big No! Same with Omawumi; her dress would’ve been cuter if it was a bit longer & she didn’t don those glaring tights.
But Tuface looks cool & casual, Banky looks sexy, Julius Agwu’s popping yellow reminds us that he’ll continue to remain comedic. And the beauty queens look gorgeous.
