Celebrating Love in Style: Lola Abiodun & Tosin Ashafa Wed
Designer Lola Abiodun and her beau Tosin Ashafa made it official on the 16th of May 2009.
The couple celebrated their special day amongst friends and family in style. Indeed, it was a grand occasion at the Tafawa Balewa Square venue as the red, white and black themed wedding was very much a celebration of love.
The bride went for the classic yet stunning look in a strapless all-lace wedding gown with her hair in coquettish curls embellished with a bewelled hair piece complemented by her bouquet of red roses. The groom Tosin was dapper in a modern grey suit with a white shirt and red tie. The 22 bridesmaids bucked convention as they were dressed in long black one-shoulder fishtail dresses while the maid of honour was dressed a silver dress, all by the bride’s label – Peridot & Ruby.
The oldies were served up entertainment by Ebenezer Obey while D’Banj thrilled everyone both young and old as he performed ‘Fall in Love’ for the newlyweds. It was a fun day as the thousands of guests danced and were caught up in the romance and euphoria of the wedding.
We at BN are wishing the couple a blessed and fruitful marriage.

Lovely! lovely! lovely! I like how they used black for a change contrasting with the bride’s white (singles and married… If u apply pschology 101 to their thematic choice, it says a lot of good things about them…lol). For example: You can tell right away that she’s really an original and he appreciates what he’s got. Never seen it b4 and me likes……Happy and blessed married life to them both!

One of the best wedding pictures i have seen. I’ve never seen bridemaids look this good in black dresses. I love the simplicity yet classy. The bride looks elegant and sophisticated, and the groom looks dapper in his suit. Everything just looks flawless.
@best man, why is he not smiling, don’t worry your day will come

I looooooove the brides dress. OMG, its beautiful. I’d love to wear something like this when I walk down the aisle. its elegant without being fussy. I always wanted a dress without a train but which looked sexy without being slutty. this fits all my expectations. hope she wouldn’t mind doin a replica for me when my time comes.
lovely wedding, and the colours are just ‘unique’.
BN, u mentioned the bride designed her dress herself. how can I get her contact details- pleeeaaase.

@Shamiso, yeah she wore a plain lace top on the dress for the ceremony. And pulled it off to reveal the strapless for the reception.
