BN Style Presents Emerging Fashion Talent Week – Day 4 – SALLY BAWA – Entrée Collection
Posted on Thursday, February 24th, 2011 at 8:07 PMBy BellaNaija.com
BN Style kicked off 2011 with a special feature on the “11 Young, Fabulous & Talented Designers to Watch in 2011″ – Click to Read.
Starting things off with that feature was no accident.
One of BellaNaija’s major goals for 2011 is to promote the next generation of talent across all fields – from fashion to music, movies, science, entrepreneurship and everything in between.
The BN Style team is pushing forward with this mandate, this week, we will be celebrating the “BN Emerging Fashion Talent Week“.
Everyday of the week, we will feature a lookbook from a promising design label. Some were included in our “11 for 2011″ list and some were not, however they are all immensely talented and breaking boundaries in their own unique ways.

For Day 4 of our BN Emerging Fashion Talent Week, we have selected upcoming fashion label, SALLY BAWA.
Sally Bawa emerged on the scene in 2009, however, it was at the 2011 Future Awards that everyone stood up and noticed when the fashion label dressed various celebrities including superstar actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde.
The Sally Bawa vision is one that was conceived 10 years ago on a cloudy dreamy day amidst the hubbub of the busy Lagos metropolis. It still is a work in progress. The idea has evolved over time and today, the label offers pieces from two distinct lines; the Ready to Wear and Exclusive Lines. Sally Bawa tells is that the “Sally Bawa Approach” is different, the clothes are reasonably priced and Sally Bawa “offers our clients total participation in the design process. We make clothes by us, for you“.

Lovely pieces. Very wearable. Kudos to the designer.
BRAVO! BRAVO! The designer did a great job with the fabric and silhouette of these pieces. And the models are wearing it well. Just so fabulous!!
the model is FAB. and my favorite? the 6th picture because it made my eyes dance. almost hypnotizing, lol.
its about time we have a Nigeria’s Next Top Model. its long overdue. with the fashion industry exploding before our very eyes, i don’t think it would be a far-fetched idea.
where is Oluchi at? lol
Models * they are two ladies and a guy* lol.
okay i see. but i was referring to the model that is in 75% of all the pictures.
6th picture’s by Kushymore Photo-Art but not kush. i wonder why they always get it wrong…Bunmi go halla o. we’re 2 different people and He does a lovely work 2
really nice…
wow these outfits are wonderful, they are just my style. can’t wait for summer n spring honestly

i guess every tom dick and harry in naija is a designer now – What else is new – abeg lets see something new aside from fashion on this blog – ah ah. Nothing unique see yet.
I almost typed SHARRAP!!However, every tom, dick and harry is entitled to their own opinion so..its ur mouth, use it as u like…#walkingawaywhistling…
Tell them! It would surprise you how little talent these kinda peeps have..yet, they try to shoot those who hone theirs. Absolute rubbish! #longhissbeforewalkingawaywhistlysoloudly!!#
This is not a blog its a website and they are very versatile as an entertainment site plz
My dear, I tire o! I was just thinking to myself; i really cannot keep up with all of them! But its not necessarily a bad thing! Can’t wait to move home and become a designer/model/socialist/blogger-celebrity. Pun intended
“Socialist” as opposed to “Socialite” – no insults intended here. That said, it is amusing how two strikingly similar words represent opposite ideas. The “Socialist Socialite” – interesting paradox!
There are some really good pieces here.
Models are fine, Simple but classy
Not bad! Not bad!
Now we are talking! Pret a porter!!!!!!!!
Wow!!!!
Loveeee all the pieces, just my style! I REP SALLY BAWA!

I liked the purple print chiffon dress the best. THe rest are aiight.

sally bawa is VERY WELL On her way!!! i love her fabrics; love the photography too. i can totally see myself in most of these outfits.

Lovely,wearable pieces
http://lifethroughomaseyes.blogspot.com
excellent. i’m very impressed that this designer can see beyond ankara-inspired outfits. well done.
Finally a designer that does both Menswear and Womenswear. I think most of the clothes look good and well made. Well done Sally! However I think you should pay more attention to the fit of the trousers on the guys. Well fitting pants are what separate high street from designer men’s fashion IMO.
Please point me to the direction where these clothes are available!!! I am ready to buy. First designer I am interested in in Naij!
thou shall not covet is a commandment. the sight of these designs makes me wish i could
yeah SALLY BAWA you heard me criticizing other designers and it seems you took note of it fierce and glamorous shots and angles taken by the photographer and represented well by the models looking out more from the male fashion designers where una dey rep us well a
Lovely, Love every single 1, and the female model is HOT!!
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet lovely oh myyyyyy!
This are one of the finest pieces i have seen!!! Tres bien
Oh my my my! I am loving this hautness, chai!
very beautiful dresses. the designs are breath taking evry single on of them.
Wow! Jide Aboderin, a model now?! Me likey!!!! U sure rocked those clothes!!! Sally Bawa, those clothes are really nice. Marie Miller, beautiful.
All the pieces are gorgeous, wearable and decent (as in from club to church, lol) but still classy. The designer is good!
I’m sorry, but I had to come back and comment. I’m still gushing over these designs.
Everyday fashion at its best…lovely pieces, wearable (I already contacted my seamstress
!) and elegant…Sally, YOU ROCK!
gooooo mariee…………….loving this pics ……………………………..
Dapo your looking good! The ladies look lovely also I am liking several of the dresses
Omg… I can’t tell her style… She’s just all over da place…
Some people should just run fashion retail businesses instead of oversaturating the market with redundant styles!
very nice resses and guess wat she is my namesake so am nt surprised lol
cool!!
My Best So Far. Its Urban, its modern and Beautiful. in touch with today’s fashion.
love the pink animal print with head tie…hot n classy! and the black dress with bustles in front
how do I order?
Loving this collection. I think its very fresh….
Staywitihme, if u only had a little more knowledge of designing u would be able to tell her style. The clothes are fab and dts all that matters here, it’s not a design competition. So please, don’t hate, appreciate. Good job Sally Bawa, this is one of the very first Naija designers that have actually impressed me
well done…..
those talking about saturation in Naija forgot to mention all the American celebrities that seem to have fashion lines with no design talent whatsoever, and by the way the white dress, i have the exact one from Dorothy Perkins in turquoise, don’t know who is copying who.
Designs dont look original…nothing differentiates you
Look like clothes from Opebi Allen shops…
