Odio Mimonet won the Innovative Designer of the Year award at the 2012 Arise Magazine Fashion Week Awards. The veteran designer presented a vibrant and varied collection! While many designers shied away from using colours, Odio went in the opposite direction with popping colours and lots of sass.

SIMPLY FAB!Love the Collection.
Too mny diiffernt pieeces. No theme?
Am glad its not just me who noticed, fantastic work, great pieces but it doesn’t come together as a collection
Exactly. as thinking the same thing.
A world-class collection. The ideas here are real and show the thinking of a designer, not a tailor. I will look out for Odio Mimonet’s work in the future, I am truly inspired.
Good luck with your faux inspiration
This is a collection…definitely wearable….Thumbs up! Great work…
Seems almost everyone drank from the same fountain of inspiration. The difference was in the fabric.
Would wear some designs- they might be overly priced though:-). Did they have me screaming “fantastic”! Probably not. Did they do a good job? I’d have to agree sans the “girls being on display”. I’m trying to get it oh! Its fashion, but don’t see someone running around in a sheer top or dress with the girls hanging out in Naija.
first of al the model in the 11th pic needs serz help ASAP, like wat d hell..!!! n den d one in d 19th pic looks under-aged to start wit and it just seemed like she was sleep walkin on d runway. As for d collection, twas 50-50 for me, some were nice n some were…well…not so nice.
I love
Can practically see myself wearing every single piece. Lovely pieces
I can see why its labelled “innovative”. Personally not a fan of mesh, but I do like the 3 I see in her collection. The long skirt is a new take on the see tru versions that are popular; and the print is Fab.
The dress in pic #2 doesnt look like its fits the model well, but I would luv to get my hands on the one in pic #5.
Really nice collection but no 2 dress was copied. Seen cheryl cole and kelly brook wear exactly same style in black last yr.
…Is dat ty bello? She models too? Wonderful
no TY Bello here, f u r referring to d model on afro NO that’s not her, maybe her look alike…..lollls
Fair enough….better than house of Nwocha!
House of Nwocha ke….make u know talk that one here o, hmmm
she made wonderful use of ankara. lovely. creative. i love
creative collection, love it! http://www.jakandeestateokeafaisololagos.wordpress.com
its realy inspiring seeing odio mimomet’s designs wow crowd. Quenching their taste of exitement and satisfaction. She is indeed worthy of the award of innovative designer of the year!
biko dis is number one! o gini bu ihe a?nwannem nwanyi odio idi too much……carry go!nothing do u, onweroo…lol
As a man, I am constantly impressed with the way Odio continues to put out designs that are wearable by ladies across the board. It’s nice to have a designer that can do that for Nigerian women; now let’s hope we can see more for the men because we need oh!
Creativity!!!
I have one question: Please what is wrong or what will be wrong if the model’s breast (her pride) is covered(with ref to pic. 16)?
Hmmmm luvly creativity watchout!!!
I really like the Ankara on crotchet/lace. That’s really novel. But there is a clear lack of a theme with this collection.
d silhouettes and structure shows several directions, d collectn lacks a theme. i’m quite confused!
I’m another 50-50 reviewer oh. Many of the looks aren’t flattering on the models. So I wonder what it’d be like for average women. Exhibit A: Amina’s look isn’t fitting. The TY Bello look alike has to walk down the runway holding up her dress (a no-no on the runway).
An aside, did Agbani Darego walk the runway? I’ve seen a lookalike at a more than a few shows. I know she attended, but did she walk?
My favourite Nigerian designer. Fluid and wearable pieces. Some fine models too. Kudos Mrs. Oseni.
While the whole collection lacks a definitive theme, I think the individual pieces are awesome. Great tailoring, innovative designs and Practicality. I really like.
P.s. love the 5th dress
artistry pieces, i like
D@ wasn agbani on d runway. Twas Millen – a Tanzanian super model
An interesting one to watch .. BellaNaija thanks for the pictures.
Too much ideas in 1 collection! WOW am blown away.
loving the dress in the fifth picture. thumbs up
