BN Red Carpet Fab: 2012 Elite Model Look Nigeria Finale | BellaNaija Style’s 10 Must See Looks

Elohor Aisien

The grand finale of the prestigious male and female model search, Elite Model Look Nigeria 2012 took place at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos – the event created a splendid and stylish sensation.

As BN announced earlier  today, 17 year old, Moyinoluwa Arowoshola won the coveted female category while 18 year old Alvin Dayaffin won the male category and apart from the winners who will soon be strutting the runways of major fashion events and performances by rap star, Lynxxx and his protege, Nedu as well as upcoming music act, G-Lory, the most buzzed about topic was fashion – who was wearing who?

All hail the Queen E! Elohor Aisien, the creative head of BETH Model Management and organizer of the annual competition helping to promote aspiring models – Elite Model Look Nigeria, stunned in a structured bandage dress by Herve Leger by Max Azria. She accessorized her look with silver bracelets and Christian Louboutin heels.

Now,check out BN‘s10 Must See Looks at the finale.

Must See Looks
Kicking off our countdown of  Must See Looks is the all Nigerian sweetheart, Agbani Darego. The former Miss World, who was also among the jury for selecting winners, arrived in a cut-out Bridget Awosika edgy white frock. Agbani kept her look simple and fresh by opting for a sleek up do, diamond stud earrings and black pumps – Way to go girl!

Lots of beautiful people… lots of goods, few bad… and some what the heck were you thinking? e.g.. G-lory? Who is she and what is she wearing? Is she trying to over-throne Goldie or what? Even Goldie looked nice…..
On a lighter note, did anyone see Denrele photo-bomb Goldie’s picture?… lol, that guy sha… overall, very lovely event. Agbani and Elohor are beauty queens!

    Lynxxxx, you are Hotttttt!!!!!

Thank God for some decently dressed people. I have a problem with Nigerian women and their terrible hair and make-up. Some people did well with their make-up but the others..sigh. As for the hair, Nigerian women will rather wear imported mops on their heads and hide their beauty than wear their real hair or at least natural looking (nicely relaxed, decent length weave/wigs, 1/2 or 2 packs of weave).
Another problem is dressing appropriately to an event. Dolapo, Bridget A, Agbani, etc look good. Some people can even wear floor length evening and club dresses to the launch of Burger King/ Taco Bell. Every event has to be an evening gown and club dress event.

  • Evagreen October 2, 2012 at 4:54 pm

  • Naveah October 2, 2012 at 5:03 pm

Actually, this is some of the best looking folks on a red or abi na blue carpet event that I’ve seen in a long time. The dudes always look effortless even when they might be dead wrong in their choices but the women always come off like they are trying a little too hard.

OMG @ Prince Uzoegwu, Goldie, G-Lory…wow!!!
It would never dawn on Denrele to just simply smile into a camera, huh? D.R.A.M.A!
Jennifer Olize – nne, you’ve got the cottage cheese thigh curse like me, avoid skirts that are way above the knees! E no be by force to wear mini skirt when you have cellulite and thighs that could use firming. It’s okay to not follow that particular trend.
AH SASHA…Sasha! You even matched the purse to this outfit? Nne, we have been telling you that you need a stylist, this outfit has really proved that it isn’t bad belle, dis ting na for real. ABEG ABEG sweet heart, splurge on one anytime you have a public event, eh abeg biko!

  • Dyn October 2, 2012 at 5:03 pm

Why is Feyi Sodipo(miss Nigeria) wearing her crown to an event? Is she depressed???
My best dressed goes to Prince…work it baby, work it!

    • anonymous October 4, 2012 at 11:16 am

That guy na goldie PA,two craze pple + derele

  • Yems October 2, 2012 at 5:08 pm

DOLAPO ONI kiileeddd it for me. Simple but everything… Class class class!

    • Mz Socially Awkward…. October 2, 2012 at 7:32 pm

I don’t know, Dolapo looked a little lost to me. Not that she doesn’t look nice, I just thought she was awfully casual for the event in question. Like she went to hang out with some friends and then stopped by the event on her way. It doesn’t feel like she made any effort.

      • JAY October 3, 2012 at 11:07 am

My thots exactly! she shlda left that blazer in the car even sef…

      • Stop Being so Critical October 4, 2012 at 8:15 am

Well At least she wasnt squeezing herself in tight, attention grabbing clothing. Leave the babe jor. She’s easy going and effortlessly fashionable. She has no agenda to prove when she dresses and I respect her for that.

  • partyrider October 2, 2012 at 5:09 pm

why did toke chest out? :(

  • Ebi October 2, 2012 at 5:09 pm

Wow Tiwa savage looking really nice (love those stella mcatney pieces). didnt know she had such nice legs #thumbsup

  • Amy October 2, 2012 at 5:09 pm

Why do people feel a need to dress in miniskirts even if it doesnt suit em? Thumbs up to Elohor Aisien,Agbani, Tiwa Savage, Sasha,Titi Fowora for keeping it simple yet fresh and alegant, Yomi Casual for wearing polka and bringing sexy back and Lara Rawa for the funky fun look.

  • konnie October 2, 2012 at 5:17 pm

Who is the dude in the wedges? Denrele, looks like some competition out there. Was black the theme color of the event? Most people looked nice

  • nkiru October 2, 2012 at 5:19 pm

I love Agbani’s dress!! Suits her and she accessorized well. • Kamal October 2, 2012 at 5:33 pm

Titi Fowora and Elohor did it for me! Lovely outfits!

    • Non professional opinion October 4, 2012 at 1:29 pm

Co-sign Elohor is a stunner but Titi wins this red carpet.

  • iyare October 2, 2012 at 5:35 pm

Titi fawora’s ensemble is really nice and simple. Loves it. Then Agbani’s white look is also really nice on her. The best looking folks in black Tiwa savage, Bridget Awosika, Ebi Atawodu, Mai, Ifeanyi Dike, Lynxx.

  • Sbaby October 2, 2012 at 5:38 pm

Ladies biko coverup your legs if they look patchy patchy

But jumai shaba is looking like a scarecrow

  • choclate October 2, 2012 at 5:39 pm

Dolapo Oni clearly did not get the formality of the event :/

    • chi chi October 9, 2012 at 1:42 pm

yeah. she looked really nice, but very inappropriate for the event. They clearly stated Formal/Black& White as dress code for the event. Elohor, Agbani, Titi Fowora, Bridget, Tiwa Savage, Ifeanyi Dike, Lynxxx, Chika Emmanuel and her fierce cheekbones, Goldie’s top only, etc Ver nice. Toke, No. Toni Tones tone your back before wearing that, Prince mha!!!. Dimeji, bored with your style, get creative. I’m tired, too many photos. Over-all a very nice event with mostly well-dressed people, and a few nos.

  • Nwak October 2, 2012 at 5:39 pm

Some of these ladies need to get shoes that fit their feet. But a generally good looking crowd, except for Denrele and his wannabe lol.

    • Gimmer October 2, 2012 at 6:28 pm

that or they should bleach the feet just like they bleach the rest of the body. tooo many jacked up feet up thur…prada sandals can only hide so much

  • Soraya October 2, 2012 at 5:59 pm

hot hot mess, the whole lot of them- Nigerian women are beautiful- just wish they could go minimal on the make-up though!

  • lil miss perfect October 2, 2012 at 6:10 pm

Has anyone considered Bobo Omotayo….. I think he nailed it

  • ami October 2, 2012 at 6:14 pm

This is the best I have seen Denrele look in a very long time. His toned down version is so much better ( I wish he left the wedge at home, but I will take what I can). Dimeji’s should have left the jacket open or not wear it has it is at least a size shy of his size. Prince please stop while you are ahead. all in all a lot of beautifully dressed, beautifully people, but some of the ladies need to up their shoe game.

  • lil miss perfect October 2, 2012 at 6:22 pm

Dolapo Oni…..seriously…..to a fashion event night, u wore that? seriously. but what do I know?In other news, why people try to look so different in the name of being fashionable beats me. Sometimes the looks vary from being outrightly weird to being plain ridiculous. Sometimes not trying to be extremely different is the key to being fashionable. But on the overall, I would say my all time favourites are
    Bridget Awosika
    Obi Obi
Mai Atafo (without those annoying glasses)
    Bobo Omotayo.

  • Oma October 2, 2012 at 6:22 pm

Look like it was a cool event.
Nice looking people but G-lory. *no comment* Kilode?!

  • ifeoma October 2, 2012 at 6:54 pm

Agbani great dress on you. You are looking simple and gorgeous! Elohor toh badt! That dress is tres hot on you! Welldone babe. Bridget Awosika certified stunner with your always amazing style. Loves your hair! Tiwa Savage wow! You have really stepped up your style oh. Welldone ma!! Looking good. Goldie there’s something I kind of like but also don’t like about this your look. Sill not sure. Na to come back be that . I don’t know about the others wearing other bright colors when the event was meant to be black or white. Ezinne you are looking very nice too my sister. Very chic dress and haircut. Waje you try sha wish you used another belt color tho. Dolapo oni errr a little toooooo simple? Whoever the babe in black high waist skirt with gold necklace and lace top is tell her she was looking good too!

  • @ajiriavae October 2, 2012 at 7:08 pm

    Dear Warebi,
Usually, I think you ‘dey try’, but that dress, no. The dress just shows the world that you don’t have true friends because if your friends really “send’ you, they would have told you that half of your bra was out, for the world to see. Real friends don’t allow each other go out looking like scanks, and I know that you aren’t a scank.
Dolapo, darling. If that Celine bag of yours gets missing, know that I took it. It’s nothing personal, I just LOVE the bag.
60% of the guys over did it but I must give the best dressed (male) award to Bobo Omotayo. Best dressed (female) for me is a tie between Titi Fowora and Linda Mesrob. That said, I must commend Sasha P. It seems she is BEGINNING to see the light.

  • Madam the Madam October 2, 2012 at 7:24 pm

    Best Dressed:
    Queen E. Elohor looks amaze.
Agbani Darego…absolutely loving that Bridget Awosika dress and the simple way that Agbani styled it.
Ugonna Omeruo – I love me some Ugonna. Looking good girl.
Tiwa Savage – Looking good, looking good.
    Lynxx – Quite dapper, bruv.
    Ezinne Chinkata – Love it!
Denrele – LMAO. Just because you gotta love Denrele.
    Mai Atafo – Looking good
Opeyemi Awoyemi – I quite like this look. Fun fun fun.
Eba Atawodi – Love the cut of the dress, the shoes, and the simple accessories, hair, and makeup.
Titi Fowora – Simple and cute. Nice.
Abisola Kola Daisy – This entire looking is werking it girl!

    On the fence:
Toke – I’m not entirely loving this look, to be honest.
    Sasha – Hmmmmm.
Gbenro Ajibade – Is that a shiny suit?? Let me process this information.
Waje – You always play it a little too safe. I would like to see you surprise us one of these days.

    No Ma’am
Toni Tones – Not feeling this at all.
Ene Maya Lawani – What exactly was going on here???
    G-Lory – Ciaooo.
Efe Tommy – Quite the fail.
Omawumi – Love Omawumi but mba. This wasn’t a beach party or something of that nature.
Bridget Awosika – It pains me to do this but that dress would have looked much better without the jacket, the hair isn’t working with the overall look, and the shoes are a little too busy.
Feyijimi Sodipo – This entire look isn’t quite working for you.
    Azuka – NO.

  • Lola October 2, 2012 at 7:27 pm

Great dress on Agbani ke. Someone should tell her to please eat, food is her friend. When she won Miss World, she was skinny, yes, so no one should cut my head off, but she looked healthy, and then she was 19 I think, so she had the body of a teenager, glowing with the body of youth. She’s a woman now, and mehn, ehn ehn ehn, she doesn’t look good. That dress was a hot mess, I don’t care who designed it. It looked like my 3year old son, took a pair of scissors to it in art class. FAIL. Ay’s wife, we know you just bought black bra. Smh. When will nigerian women get the memo, its either you show Boobs or Leg, not both. Liz Yemoja, you actually left your house, thinking you looked fly. Chai. Especially with your girls looking like someone took out the fat, and pressed them with a flat iron. tsk tsk tsk, not good at all. Funke Akindele, looked so fresh and lovely, she was a breath of fresh air, from all the hot messes, and there were too many of them. I will add this to my prayer points, brazilian, egyptian, malaysian, and all the -ians need to go out of fashion. Kilode, this is overkill. Hair, hair, hair everywhere, cellulite legs, awkward poses, weird shoes, off putting make up. Okay I don finish. If you don’t have, let me see Charlize Theron’s legs, (the tall end of the spectrum) or even Eva Longoria (the shorter end),as petite as she is, please don’t wear a mini skirt or dress. Respect yourself na Dancing azonto, all the way to the living room to watch my recorded live on the red carpet on E. I have to replace these images, with that of glamazons from Hollywood. BN will probably not post this. We can’t all ooh and aaah o, BN you hear? Lol

  • paperboy October 2, 2012 at 7:29 pm

    Tiwa
    Agbani

    Elohor
The rest na wash I kid I kid ooohhh

  • i no send October 2, 2012 at 7:30 pm

this prince usogwu …haba….who or what is he please????

  • Tosin October 2, 2012 at 7:41 pm

One. You said ten. Then showed 100 pictures. You people like doing that. Stop it.
You are partially forgiven because like half of the pictures were of very very very nicely-dressed and nice looking people. Impressive. But as there are so many of them, I can’t start doing individual comments.
The person you’ve labelled Tiwa Savage, little I can see of her face and legs, it can’t be her. But maybe she changed.
I want to take a moment to thank all the guys who did not wear super skinny pointy shows. It’s like the wicked witch pointed shoe days, but for men. How terrifying. Please don’t wear that kind of nonsense out again. I want to thank Audu Maikori for being predictable in his fine way.
I want to thank Agbani for wearing white – it makes her look less model-skinny (i.e. finer). I’d heard she was a fine girl, but supermodel size is not it for me.
I want to thank the person labeled Toni Tones. Whaaaat. Gorgeous. Thank you to the photographer that asked her to turn around!
Funke Akindele, yelz, you passed with flying colours. Sasha P, good job. Sexy librarian, abi. Let me caution some people – this is Nigeria, stop spilling your boobs. Let me also complain about all these big chunky shoes on skinny legs and tight shoes with spilling legs. Why? This too shall pass. Amen.
    Oya, I’m tired. You’re welcome.
Oh, and say no to peplum. Have a mind of your own. Leave it for Victoria Beckham.

    • Naveah October 4, 2012 at 1:54 pm

Fact check, please! We were wearing Peplum in Naija BEFORE Victoria Beckham came and put in on the map because of her name. Were we not wearing ankara before Beyonce? I have an outfit I sewed back in 2008 in ankara that had a peplum top so Ms. Beckham ain’t setting no new standards. We are quick to give these white folks and celebrities credit for starting things.

  • Onyi October 3, 2012 at 7:17 am

Tiwa Savage is my favorite. Bobo Omotayo looks hot. Dolapo worked too hard to dress up like Kourtney Kardashian but goofed. Derenle has taken his bleaching to new heights. Still beats me that Sasha can’t really dress up. Linda Biko bleach up that black spot on your leg.

  • Loladay October 3, 2012 at 7:47 am

Elohor pleaseeeee I need ur fitness secret, help a young sista out biko! looking really good! Add Ezinne Chinkata to dat too- Hot Bory!!

Bridget Awosika- Those pieces DO NOT work together especially with dose shoes..naaaa!- ur designs r great, don’t let Agbani and Princess Ejere beat u at rocking ur own designs now!
Was Dolapo going there to serve coffee wit that outfit?
Ene lawani- Dress your age abeg! your face luks young, but ur dressing looks lyk a 40yr old girls-scout (if dere’s such a thing)!
How did Toke’s dress work its way out of the 90s?
Sasha pleaseeee release the buttons on that shirt, girls like us with huge heads should keep the neck visible to look balanced…u look choked!

Generally though we need to dress for our ages, bodies n d occasion- there were quite a few Choir Mistresses in the house, kilode??

Agbani, Tiwa and Bridget for me all day any time!! Beautiful and faboulously wicked ladies.

  • debola October 3, 2012 at 12:01 pm

For me Agbani is the best looking of the night hands down! That dress is fab. She looks simple, sophisticated and stylish. Bridget Awosika! I love you and your work but I expected a little more from you. How did you put such beautiful pieces on Agbani, pricess Chinwe and even Chika and you now wore that. Ok I understand you are the designer and you must take take of your supermodels first abi. I will forgive you this time. :D

  • chike October 3, 2012 at 12:36 pm

Dolapo Oni nailed it for me, ko to gbogbo all these baffing probably to see their pics in BN sha, Bobo Omotayo and Lynxx for the boys.

  • Beni October 3, 2012 at 1:50 pm

Agbani and Toni Tones did it for me

  • Shoo shoo October 3, 2012 at 1:52 pm

I don’t agree with tiannah styling aesthetic. I think her problem is that she doesn’t know when to stop and needs a quick 101 in fabric selection. The length was off, fabric looked cheap and don’t go together. Shoulder slit, side slit, open back, statement neck line on a yellow and red mixed print….sheesh, way too much on any one Talkless of a petite frame like Toni tones. It was simply a disaster.

Agbani looked fantastic. Simple and sophisticated always works.

Overall it was a delight. Some looked more casual than most but they all looked lovely. Well except the obvious.

  • Bisi October 4, 2012 at 3:15 am

Only one-third of them knew what was up. The rest were just clueless. First of all, your feet have got to match your shoes, then your shoes have got to match your dress, and your dress has got to match your body. But how can your dress match your body when your hair has overtaken the dress??? Some people sha. Just because hair is super-long or big doesn’t make it fit for the event or your style.

  • signature October 4, 2012 at 6:58 am

First of all if i see pne more herve ledger bandage dress i am going to flip something and puke on it….that being said, i , must compliment most of the ladies in there that night
most if not all of them stepped it up, best outfit for me was this lady http://cdn.bellanaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/BN-Red-Carpet-Fab-Elite-Model-Look-Nigeria-2012-Finale392.jpg and bridget awosika is soo Glamorous(girl crush)
and i wish i had the bod to rock makida moka’s jumpsuit(hot daym)
its so clear to tell the difference from a crowd of stylist nd fashion aces from that of celebs that dnt have stylist *cough*nollywood red carpet *cough* :P

  • ty October 4, 2012 at 8:59 am

  • Anon October 5, 2012 at 1:28 am

Agbani, is one of the most beautiful women in the world. She nailed it, she looks flawless. This chika girl is simple fierce. Lynxx and Gbenro, handsome fellas. Funke, looks beautiful.

  • Tumbi October 5, 2012 at 3:58 am

I truly loved Denrele’s look. Tha Zara basic jacket and the overall black ensemble wasn’t bad and he just needed to rock the studded boots,……how does he manage in them? I saw him and Goldie having so much fun as compared to the front row peeps who were dry and drab!
The Prince Uzo warreva should take a hike. At least Denrele is pretty to look at, Prince looks like someone in an urgent need of a graveyard.

  • D Fairy GodSister October 5, 2012 at 9:42 am

The comments made my day!!!!!! Especially the guy who wrote a scripture for that Prince guy; dead!!!!

Best looks of the night for me were Agbani, Elohor, and Ifeanyi Dike. #tharrisall
