BN Saturday Celebrity Interview: She’s not a Rookie! Nollywood Actress Rukky Sanda is Breaking New Grounds & Stepping on to Greater Heights

Rukky Sanda is one Nollywood actress who has had a steady rise in her career ever since she made her debut into the movie industry. The Banking and Finance graduate of Lagos State University featured in her first movie, Angel and the Beast in 2004 whilst still a student at the University. After that, she took a three-year break and returned to the industry in 2007 and hasn’t looked back ever since. Recently, she has spread her wings into movie production and is working on a number of projects. Her new movie, The Search has already earned her a nomination at the Best of Nollywood Awards for the Best Screen Play. In this exclusive interview with Bellanaija’s Adeola Adeyemo, Rukky speaks about her life, her career growth and several controversial topics surrounding her.

Rukky Sanda was one person I really looked forward to meeting. She is someone who seems to get much media attention without lifting a finger and with all that has been said and written about her, I knew I was going to have an interesting interview. And I was not disappointed. She was very clear about not giving a damn about people’s opinions and amidst all the buzz surrounding her, she continues to forge ahead in her career and is breaking new grounds. She had a really sweet smile, joked a lot and had a likeable personality.

Treading New Paths
Hi Rukky. It’s good to see you. What have you been up to recently? What projects are you working on?
I’m preparing to release my movies, Lovelorn, The Search and Miami Heat in October, November and December. Right now, we are casting people for roles in a future project.

Recently, you seem to be doing more producing than acting. Have you left acting for producing?
That is all I’m doing now. There are few people I’m ever going to act for, very few people, because not everybody is doing what we are doing now.

It’s quite rare to see young actresses take the leap into producing movies. When did you start producing and why did you decide to take that path?
I produced my first movie almost as soon as I got into the industry, after I did two movies. I am more of a business person. I want money. I’ve always been a business person so if I can do both and make money from doing films why not?

Tell me about your first experience as a movie producer. What lessons did you learn?
The first movie I produced was Lethal Woman. I don’t want to condemn it but if I had my way then, I probably won’t have released the movie because it’s not my best work. I had absolutely no idea of what I was doing. I didn’t do my research well. For me, it was a business move. I asked some people, how much would it cost me to make a movie? And they told me N3million and I said let’s do it. I saw this American movie and I thought it would look good in a Nigerian movie and I copied it. If I knew then what I know now, I would not have copied somebody’s movie. What is that? Who does that?

Did you make profit from that movie?
I still have someone owing me over N800,000. I may make profit eventually because of new avenues coming out. I won’t say I’ve not made money from it, but I’ve not made more than N3million. But the good thing is its mine forever so I can still make money from it.

How many movies have you acted in and how many have you produced so far?
I’ve acted in over 40 movies, I don’t know the actual figure. But as for my productions, 3 are already out and I have 4 coming out soon. 3 of the new ones will be released this year and the last one next year.

Now that you seem to be going more in the direction of movie production, do you have a company managing your production work?
I have Rukky Sanda Studios. I have my production company, my equipment, my employees; I have people that are permanently working for Rukky Sanda Studios in Surulere.

So you act, and you produce. Do you have any plans of directing your own movies?
I direct as well. I co- directed Lovelorn and The Search.

Really? Did you have any formal training in movie directing because I’ve heard some movie directors say you need some form of training to be able to direct movies properly?
I actually do a lot of research. And I’m the kind of person that likes to learn. I won’t say “I am your boss, shut up”. I want you to teach me. Right now, I’m learning editing and I’m enjoying it. All my work, I put my money into it so I have to be involved in every aspect of my work because I’m not in the business of throwing money away. Basically, I’m involved in every part of my production.

But people say directing is more technical…
I’m not a technical director. I’m not going to sit down here and tell you that. I am a creative director. I know how I want my picture to look. When I have a picture in mind, I can create what I want it to be. I work together with my technical director that is why I don’t work with old people again. If you are above 35, you can’t work for me. Because I’ve tried to work with older people and they feel like they know it all. I welcome everybody’s opinion and older people don’t like to listen to suggestions.

In The Beginning…
Take me back to the start of your career. What attracted you to acting?
My attraction then and now is not the same thing. At the beginning, I met my sister’s friend who used to work in a production company. I was in LASU and school was on strike and I just told her I wanted to act. And she said let’s go, so we went. We shot the movie overnight and it was too stressful and I said I’m not doing again. This was in 2004. I lost interest and I didn’t act again till 2007. But it is different now because I actually love the art of production and creating something. It’s actually more fun for me now because now I know I have a job. I can say this is what I do, I make films.

Speaking about jobs, have you had any other job or business aside from acting and now producing?
Before I started acting, I knew most people in the industry. When I was in school, I used to travel and buy clothes, shoes and accessories to sell. I’ve even sold a TV before. The TV was on sale for about $700 and I brought it into the country to come and sell.

How did you raise the money to start your business as a student?
My dad gave me N500,000 when I was in my second year in the University. I told him I want to travel and start buying things to sell. So instead of going for holidays just like that, I come in with goods to sell.

Getting to know Rukky
Tell me about your name Rukky. I heard it’s short for something…
If you go to my house and you ask for Rukayat, they would probably tell you they don’t know the person. It wasn’t a name I gave myself, that is what they’ve called me since I was a child. That is what everybody knows me as, I’ve always been Rukky. Probably if I have to write my full name, I may even forget the spelling.

How would you describe your personality?
I am me all day, everyday. I am fun, down to earth. I welcome other people’s opinions but I always put myself first. Me first, then any other thing. I don’t care about what anybody’s opinion of me is. The most important people to me are my family, they are the only people I actually owe an explanation and they know me already. For any other person, I really don’t care.

You have a number of tattoos and piercings on your body. Would you call it a form of expression?
Is it not my body? I can do whatever I want. It’s just how I want it.

How many of them do you have?
They are everywhere, I can’t even count. I don’t know how to count my tattoos. I’ve taken most of my piercings out. But I have 7 on my left ear and 6 on my right ear, 2 on my tongue and one on my belly.

Don’t they make you uncomfortable, especially the ones on your tongue?
No it doesn’t disturb me. I can’t even imagine removing it because I’d feel like I’m incomplete without them.

Where did you get them?
Different places, I got some here, I got some in London, some in Miami.

I read about your recent 28th birthday a few weeks ago. Let me wish you a happy belated birthday. How did you spend your day?
I sent gifts to the motherless children’s home in the morning, and had a party at my home and hung out with a few friends later in the night.

You had quite an interesting birthday cake…
I always have a picture cake every year. A chef friend of mine on the Island does the same thing every  year.

Around that period, you created quite a buzz when you and Tonto Dike jointly donated N1million to a cancer patient for her treatment. Did you donate equal amounts and what prompted the donation?
We both donated equally, 500k, but Tonto initiated it all because I knew absolutely nothing about the girl or what was going on. It was Tonto that heard about it and she was really concerned and worried. She called me and insisted we do it. So it was all her cute little brain, even though we didn’t intend for it to be public. I don’t know how that happened, guess it’s truly a small world.

Dealing with controversies
You have been in the media for a number of controversial topics and I’d like you to please address them. Some media reports have alleged that you’ve had a cosmetic surgery, a face lift for instance…
In Nigeria, they don’t even know what a face lift is. It is when your skin starts to sag, they lift it up around your temples and cut the excess one off. How old am I that I would need a face lift? Someone said I had a lipo and dermabrasion. OK, I’ve done everything, I’ve even done the one they’ve not yet said.

Seriously, is that true?
You want me to tell you no?

No, I want you to tell me the truth
The truth is that I’ve never done a plastic surgery. I have nothing against it but I’ve not done anything yet. If I want to do it, it is my body and as long as it’s what I want, it’s nobody’s business.

Your skin colour has also been the subject of gossip. Some people have said you are bleaching your skin…
When you look at me, what do you see?

I see a light skinned lady
I’m light o, and I’m going to do everything I have to maintain my complexion. If they like they should call it bleaching or washing, whatever they want to call it. Me and my cream, we are best buddies. Whatever they want to say, they should continue. Me I am making money. When nobody is talking about you, then you are not doing something right.

Do you have a beauty routine? How do you maintain your glowing skin?
I used to have a routine when I had my life. Not like now when I have a company to run and salaries to pay, I can’t sit down in one place and be doing beauty routine. I try to exfoliate everytime I can. Now my routine is body scrub, scrub, scrub because I don’t have anytime to go to a spa and things like that.

How would you describe your style and what influences what you wear?
I’ve always been a very fashionable person. It depends on my mood really, I think I’m different people at different times. Sometimes, I might just wear something and I want to f*** it up a little bit, intentionally, like who cares. If you are not happy, go and jump in the lagoon.

Some of the clothes you wear to events have also been the subject of controversy. One I can remember is what you wore to Genevieve’s birthday party some months ago.
Is it not my body? I wear what I want to wear. I won’t say anything is not decent. As far as I’m comfortable with what I’m wearing, I’m not blind, I can see what I’m wearing before I go out. So if anything anybody sees me wearing anything, that is what I want to wear. I don’t have a stylist, I do not need a stylist.

Love & Friendship
Let’s talk about more romantic stuff now. What do you think about marriage?
Marriage is a beautiful thing. If you find somebody to wake up with you every single morning, someone that wants to spend the rest of their life with you, that’s wonderful.

Is marriage on your radar now?
Right now, I’m not even dating. Not at all. I’m dating this work that I’m doing now. I’d probably be the worst person in a relationship at this point in time.

As a Muslim, can you marry someone not practicing the same religion as yours?
What is my business? I can marry anybody. I can even marry someone that has no religion.

How would you describe your faith?
My faith is very strong, it’s me and God in this life. God is my best friend. I pray everyday, morning and night.

Who would you say are some of your closest friends in the movie industry?
I’m one person that I don’t have a problem with anybody, and when I say anybody, I mean anybody in the industry. Except probably I’ve never met the person or we’ve never worked together. I’m cool with everybody.

With all that has been said and written about you, can you tell me something about you that a lot of people don’t know?
I’m very real, I think I’m too playful and I’m very cautious of my environment. If I go to a place that I don’t know anybody, I’m gonna be mute all through. I like to have a certain comfort zone, I’m just me all day, every day. I’m very strong willed, very opinionated. I’m hundred percent real.

It was great chatting with Rukky and from Bellanaija.com, we wish her the very best!

*rolls eyes and move on to the next news/feature*

  • JJ October 6, 2012 at 3:22 pm

This girl and the rest of them need media training. What “professional” says in an interview that besides being business oriented, their decision to produce movies is because they want money? Passion no dey involved? Where they do that at? That’s why our movies have useless and dull story lines because these people are hungry for money. Sometimes you even start questioning your intelligence after spending a few hours watching parts 1- 10 of a dumb Nollywood movie. We, Nigerians can do better!

    • Alex October 6, 2012 at 6:57 pm

shut up JJ…what do u know bout creation………go nd produce a good movie with no parts wth best story line before you talk all this jazz….. make d change or sssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    • ngum October 7, 2012 at 4:44 pm

v good poiint about media training. the whole thing seems so crude.

    • lu October 7, 2012 at 5:01 pm

      well said JJ

    • vanessa October 8, 2012 at 10:36 am

exactly my point. passion should b the driving force, then money the reward.it’s really a pity. no Hollywood star would talk like rookie.

  • JJ October 6, 2012 at 3:23 pm

And then Rukky continues by estimating how much she’s being owed and how much she’s made as a producer. Lord, be our deliverer.
Anyway, good luck to her. I admire her efforts though.

  • MeeT October 6, 2012 at 3:33 pm

  • Hazel October 6, 2012 at 3:53 pm

Admittedly, she does draw stars into her movies. Not bad.. but uhm, she’s interesting. I should have just typed up all 3 of my comments together I know. -_-

  • ucylo October 6, 2012 at 4:06 pm

She sounds like a teenager! and yet you mentioned 28th Birthday…….its my body, is it not my body? nawa o!!!

  • Triangle October 6, 2012 at 4:22 pm

Wait first, I don’t like her tone in this interview at all. She was very defensive. Chill lady no one is attacking U.
It was a very unprofessional interview on her part, was she responding to questions or replying her haters? Kai, like d hausaman will say.
Moving on, her very first movie I watched, she wore dresses thru out and maybe few skirts thrown in between. I wondered abt that till I read an interview where she said she didn’t own any trousers. That she’s a girly girl and prefers dresses. I guess all that has changed. Wish U well Rukayat, but money should never be your sole motivation for anything.

  • Adesuwa October 6, 2012 at 4:43 pm

Your attitude shows thru yr interview….you’re no ALL that young girl!

  • slyyy October 6, 2012 at 4:45 pm

  • Nnenna October 6, 2012 at 4:48 pm

Seemed very defensive all through…, she needs to take a chill pill.

  • Anon October 6, 2012 at 4:51 pm

Did she really say this? “Probably if I have to write my full name, I may even forget the spelling.” Such an airhead!

  • Babe October 6, 2012 at 4:52 pm

Girlfriend, what did you say?? Please you are in dire need of a stylist…No, you need three stylists, one for your hair, make-up (please remove your contacts), and the other for your wardrobe. :-)

  • Lulu October 6, 2012 at 4:54 pm

LOL!! What most of these girls dont know is that as soon as in the limelight, what u do and decisions u make matter, becos people are watching, if u dont like that, then go work in a bank or something, at least there no one will complain of u bleaching…just saying ooo

  • Rukky October 6, 2012 at 5:10 pm

HAAHAA, can’t stop laughing ooo…line of the year, “Is it not my body?” So, basically she no get concrete reason to justify all the things she dey do except the fact that “is it not my body?” But hey, tru-tru she no owe anyone any explanation. She’s 28 and is a grown ass woman. Plus, I like seeing women that take care of themselves make commendable contributions to society. Just because you be pacesetter no mean say you gats to be unkempt and no fine so people take you seriously, especially because of this stereotype that fine girls no know book. I like you Rukky and can’t wait for the release of the movies :)

  • Mma October 6, 2012 at 5:20 pm

She seems sweet but slightly uptight as if she expects negativity constantly. She is very defensive in her responses.

    http://africansweetheart.blogspot.co.uk/

    • Nma October 8, 2012 at 12:51 am

In her defense, she is constantly critisized in blogs all the time so i can understand why she sounded so “uptight” and defensive. Susan Peters is another actress i feel like people unfairly tear down constantly, especially since her debacle with Linda Ikeji. Eveytime that poor lady’s picture surfaces on a blog people tear her to shreds with no mercy…its quite appalling! They dont know her, or her story. I don’t blame their reactions…its quite annoying to me so i can only imagine how they feel.

We may not agree with how people look, dress, act etc but it doesnt give u any right to ridicule them so callously, especially when u know nothing about them but their names. For instance, Tontoh Dike is one of the most generous naija celebrities(besides Don Jazzy) i know….I remember when Sam Loco died she was reported to be the highest giver by far…and it was not meant to be in public records not until the funds were mismanaged and the AGN president was asked to give a public account. Many of the other big name celebs that u’d expect to give the most were donating a few thousands…..but tonto gave way beyond all of them. It really surprised me. Then the case where she and Rukky gave to the cancer patient (that was not also meant to go public) and others that we dont know about.

The moral of my story is: As cliche as it may sound, do not judge a book by its cover….cos sometimes, the books with the most “modest” looking covers can contain the worst contents inside and vice versa.

  • Winifred October 6, 2012 at 5:27 pm

Abeg leave the girl alone!must we all be deep?chrrrrrrr

    • JJ October 6, 2012 at 11:58 pm

What is the brain for? For shakara?

      • Sbaby October 7, 2012 at 7:42 pm

Jj you are too much mehn

      • Ekalor October 8, 2012 at 10:02 am

        Dearest JJ,
We cannot all be the same.. I know its painful, but its a reality, we must all accept.
Cannot always approve of how people live,or protrary their lives.. Because it comes off as being judgemental or even envious. Best to just avoid it.
        That principle applies here.

    • Bizzy October 7, 2012 at 5:58 pm

I wonder! Abeg we need such people in Showbiz… esp in Nigeria. Life would be too boring.

  • tchweaa October 6, 2012 at 5:31 pm

Mtschewwww same ole ish, so what else is new ?

  • simi October 6, 2012 at 5:38 pm

All I can say is OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no more comment!

  • Ada Owerri October 6, 2012 at 5:48 pm

I am glad she talked about and admitted the foolishness that was lethal woman. I want to say she’s young but then at 28 lots of girls are doing big things…. Still I think she’ll be unrecognisable so shall I say her work would be unrecognisable in ten years. We live and learn, hopefully.

  • i no send October 6, 2012 at 5:54 pm

thank you mee T …..i like her but the tone is a bit aggressive…when u are in the public eye and also thru the public make ur living ..u might want to focus on people that like u ..not refer constantly to rumours and side talk that way..it puts those who do off …

  • dlapikin October 6, 2012 at 5:57 pm

She is such a stiff actress but the trailers look good so maybe she should shift to production and remain there. I dont recall seing one Rukky Sanda movie where I felt she delivered her lines on point… On an unrelated note I had a feeling through the interview she thought that she actuatually had any fashion sense. She and tonto are two pretty girls who consistently show up at events in great outfits that do not suit their body shapes or that they jack up by over accessorizing and wearing excess make up…

  • Triangle October 6, 2012 at 6:20 pm

If that movie she acted with Nonso Diobi is d lethal woman then it was truly crap. I remember Africa Magic true to fashion forced it down our throats one period like that.
I’ll sure look out for her new movies cos of d cast quality.

  • joystick October 6, 2012 at 6:52 pm

Is it not my body???” Lmfao! She should done some rehearsals with a publicist na! Abi hw on earth will u b in d public eye and make money from public patronage n yet av d guts to say such silly tins…she sounds 16 to me…dis r “celebs” forget that such interviews are actually a good medium of getting your fans to know and love u more! Bt as for Rukky, It is well!

  • ester October 6, 2012 at 7:13 pm
  • XoXo October 6, 2012 at 7:26 pm

She lack professionalism…..how can someone just be talking like a market woman in an interview? please pass the mic!

  • mina sarki October 6, 2012 at 7:27 pm

i dont care for her interview… but at least she is truthful. but damn who is ikay ? never seen that fine ass man before.. three words “yummmy,” “eye candy”

  • Na wa o! October 6, 2012 at 7:40 pm

Rukky is sounding defensive probably because people have made her so. Most Nigerians are very judgemental irrespective of whether a person is a celebrity figure or not. Constant criticism can cause even the most jovial person to turn defensive. Anyways, wishing Rukky the best.

    • omototun October 6, 2012 at 11:07 pm

she didn’t sound defensive she sounded shallow and a tad unintelligent….but quite hardworking though:D

  • Jemimah October 6, 2012 at 7:59 pm

BN please interview SUSAN PETERS:-) Miss Adeyemo, I enjoy your work and thank you for keeping us entertained. Jemimah.

  • Jay October 6, 2012 at 8:05 pm

    Yawn…

  • I do not know Rukky Sanda personally October 6, 2012 at 8:14 pm

But you all took the time to read the interview…….Rukky for as long as your heart does not condemn you no-one can. Silly people who sit back and judge others.

    • omototun October 6, 2012 at 11:04 pm

I took time to read the interview because it’s a bellanaija interview…..Why do you have to call folks silly just cos they are irritated by a 28 year old woman answering questions like a teenager???? Yes It is her body…and even if she felt compelled to reiterate this very obvious fact, the least she could have done was mix things up a little with other lines such as: “it’s my prerogative” ; “I am a grown woman and I have made my choices”; “What I have done with my body have no bearing on my art and craft”, I could go on and on…this coming from an engineer with no experience in PR ( my Uni didn’t even require a pass in English for admission to my faculty)

      • rew October 7, 2012 at 1:35 pm

Even if she used all the grammar in the dictionary, you judgmental folks will still go in on her.The girl has said it without sugarcoating it, go and jump into the lagoon if you have a problem with her.

      • sexy mama April 29, 2013 at 4:11 pm

u ple are really stupid oh…..dont u read engligh? this was in resp to a question and no where here did she say what she did was good…..dont take answers and twist them to suit your cheap talk……read again before talking cheap, had to cut and paste so ur dull brain can assimilate it better….

    • bidibangbadaboom October 7, 2012 at 12:11 am

hahahhaahah i love ur comment idontknow…..i actually didnt read all that shebang but what caught my eyes was the bleaching cream question….who cares it’s her body….i guess she’s famous and haters are on the rise. i like her answers tho. onto the next one.

  • partyrider October 6, 2012 at 8:35 pm

What is it about naija ‘celebs’ that suddenly talk about smiling to the bank and making money once they are challenged? the same thing with tonto,on twitter the other day she said if you havent given out 5million on twitter before you shouldnt talk to her, some BS about talk in pounds and euros.you can’t help but wonder how much they actually have in their account..
i was actually laughing through this interview, her defensive answers were amusing.’na fight’ was what crossed my mind as i read some of her responses..
Wish her all the best..can’t knock her hustle.

    • Jen... October 6, 2012 at 10:28 pm

God bless you o party rider. It totally irks me when they use that defence line “I’m smiling to the bank bla bla money in my account”. Biko, make we hear word! Get a private jet and I’ll keep quiet. Nonsense!

  • sassycassie October 6, 2012 at 10:06 pm

    talk about uncouth *smh*

  • grace October 6, 2012 at 11:55 pm

@I do not know Rukky Sanda personally, when once u decide to become a public figure ehn , u open urself to all sort of judgements. the earlier u develop a thick skin the better for ur career, so dont sit behind ur computer and talk about judgements, therez nothing worth commending in her interview. it all
    comes with the package

  • Katty October 7, 2012 at 1:10 am

Calm down Rukky! U doing good, but trust me pride goes before a fall! U nollywood girls wanna be hollywood babes so bad but try copy the good. For example no matter how hard they come on Beyonce et al, u”ll never hear them be so defensive on her interviews! Remember the fans make u uh ha. Focus on the positives and i betcha they sky will be ur starting point? Thumbs up though.

  • Vivian October 7, 2012 at 2:34 am

Nice one… Defensive or not it was a nice and real interview. I like d fact that she was truthful and as you can tell from the comments from the person who interviewed her, she had a great time and the interview was real. If she was fake and gave scripted answers una go still take rubbish. And as for that goat jj I’m sure u r one of those losers that clean toilet abroad if not you won’t have missed the part where she said she’s doing films cause she loves the art of production and creating something all u saw was Money cause u obviously need it. Broke Ass Toilet Washer. Moving on… Nice one BN. Can’t wait to watch this movies I think she’s doing great. Nice production. Go girl sky is your limit.

  • jadesola October 7, 2012 at 3:32 am

  • cathy October 7, 2012 at 4:12 pm

    na wa ohhhhhhh

  • lu October 7, 2012 at 5:13 pm

never seen her in a movie before, heard about her only when she donated 500k

  • Missasokoro October 7, 2012 at 6:19 pm

After reading the comments(85%) negative /hateful. I don’t blame rukky for answering questions the way she did. Even if she did ans question using queen English/plenty grammar u people will still find something negative to write about her, forgetting that she had the balls to follow her dreams and to the glory of God going from strength to strength whilst u people watch on with so much envy- leave her alone! And if u find that hard to comprehend , then in rukky’s term ” go and jump into the lagoon”.

    • Lola October 7, 2012 at 11:08 pm

Rukky, no need to hide your name. We know you are the one commenting. Shu, it day pain you for body o. What did you expect the response to your gutter, crass interview will be. All hail, queen rukky. Abeg, park well

  • Tolu October 7, 2012 at 7:57 pm

I think y’all hating on her need to get a life!!!!!shes making her money nd u’re here talking crap,at the end of the day,it’s her life and truly her body,it’s nobody’s business, how has her life affected your personal well being? Or added value to your life?sit down der bitching about her while she makes all the money you should av spent your time making.bullshit……kudos Rukky

  • Viola October 7, 2012 at 10:43 pm

I like the fact that Rukky does not give a flying fig about all you judgemental-stiffbacked straight-laced wannabees! She said her mind and thats that! People like her, Tonto Dike , Susan peters etc are needed in showbiz… just be a fly in the ointment of you Holier-than-thou Nigerians! Nothing ever pleases you! I hope she keeps on being more outrageous just to annoy you all! Lol!

  • L.A Chick October 7, 2012 at 11:03 pm

Rukky is trying shah! People will always see wrong whenever someone states: “I just want to do me” which is actually the best way to live life. You live for yourself as at the end of the day you will be alone in front of your Creator!

  • Julz October 7, 2012 at 11:54 pm

her answers were defensive cos she’s been attacked a lot.
i like her tho and as she said, it’s her body.

  • Nma October 8, 2012 at 12:32 am

LOL. This is one brutally honest chic. U gotta love her, even if for nothing, for her honesty!
The movies look interesting as well.

  • KingsQueen October 8, 2012 at 12:53 am

All that “i don’t care” talk actually really sounds like she cares a whole lot about what people say! i doubt she’s the most pleasant at first sighting but we can’t all play nice… that’ll be a tad bit boring!

With that said I wish her all the best in her career!

  • shawwy October 8, 2012 at 1:32 am

hahaha…..so, BN I need to apologize to you oh…all along I thought your interviews were suspect….the folks always sounded so cool, intelligent and so put together, I honestly thought you guys edited the interviews and always *yinmu’ed* whenever anyone paid a compliment on the eloquence of a celeb…..Now i know better oh!!! hehehehe#nuffsaid
keep making money jare Rukayatu omolomo…..by the time you are old hopefully there would be new techniques to help ‘maintain’ your skin, otherwise you are done for oh! go ask my mumsi’s 60year old RED skinned multimillionaire friend who keeps running from Dubai to India looking for a skin solutions (am sorry I couldn’t resist the advice, I know it’s your body #jormabinu :x)

  • Tumbi October 8, 2012 at 2:17 am

Rukky Sanda is one babe who celebrates her birthday in style every year. I attended a dinner she had at Eko hotel once and she spared no expenses…….free food and over flowing champagne.
She works hard because she bought her mum a Murano recently and again, she is very close to Denrele. Saw both of them once at 1004 shooting a movie.

  • ennkayy October 8, 2012 at 3:06 am

Rukky dear. Big ups for the hard work and determination, little advice; we know it’s your body but do remember when acting you are supposed to be interpreting another person’s life and body. So easy with the ‘brows, eyes, hair and all hat you like otohave going on simultaneously so that we can focus on your acting and the plot. It’ll be nice to see you take on the character and leave your superfluousness at home, maybe then you will attract more fan base and your act will become believable. If these snippets serve me right, I can see that you are adding more verve to your acting. Hopefully I’ll be able to sit through an entire movie with you in the lead act for once – it’s been quite a difficult feat in the past because your acting was at best sub-par. So, looking forward to this and much success you – I now you’ve been checking this page…

  • versence October 8, 2012 at 8:44 am

    i enjoyed her interview tho

  • G October 8, 2012 at 11:31 am

Rummy celebrated her 30th bday like 3 yes ago,I remember cosit was on encomium and they clearly wrote that, she even talked about it…now she’s. 28…wat I don’t get with Nigerian females is exactly this,y be ashamed of getting older, will it make seem less appealing, feel better, surely it is never dat serious…

  • G October 8, 2012 at 2:20 pm

    *rukky* *years*

  • toyin October 8, 2012 at 3:08 pm

well done on your hard work tho but please relax abit………………..you sound like you are ready to attack
    take a breathe and exhale

  • Tee October 9, 2012 at 4:53 am

she needs a PR manager fast! If she’s truly passionate about her career in acting and wants to see it go places. Leave all that talk about pple not been the same, boring interview etc. That’s not the main issue here. Hopefully, those ignorant scales can fall off her eyes and home girl can take some advice!

  • Joan October 9, 2012 at 9:18 am

Wow, what a terrible interview. She needs to work on her articulation and friendliness in her tone of words. Feel sorry for the interviewer.

  • fissy October 12, 2012 at 2:24 pm

    I love Rukky go girl

  • tee October 15, 2012 at 1:59 pm

  • babious October 16, 2012 at 5:22 pm

worst actress of d decade.directing and producing?! God help nollywood! real indeed!

  • Sunshine October 17, 2012 at 12:29 am

Interesting interview. I find her a poor actress, but in all the roles I’ve seen her in she is quite comedic. Maybe she should consider doing comedies, I dare say it will also go with her sense of style. OMG that wig and those contacts….LOL!!!!!

  • temii October 29, 2012 at 11:22 pm

    OMG!
Heard bwt dis interview! I thought people exaggerated. Knowing Nigerians!
Thank God I saw dis wit mii own eyes!
    Hahahahaha
    Lmaoooo
Dis is by far the worst interview ever!
She obviously is full of herself n believes she has a whole lot of haters!
Babe really needs to chill & get off her high horse!
Personally, I thinkk her acting is horrible and she needs to take lessons likewise her ‘friend’ Tonto dikeh! That one just needs an Englist teacher ASAP! Judging from her diction!
*sigh* God go make us bigger also O! OBO
    & oh! I LOVE BN :* :*
