The banquet event to honour doctors rounded off the successful First Annual National Health Summit which was hosted by the Delta State Government in Asaba in January 2013.
The 7-day event was themed “Repositioning the Medical Profession and Nigeria’s Health System for National Development” and was focused on “addressing all the challenges facing the health sector and charting a new future for the sector.
The high point of the banquet was when Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State (who is also a medical doctor) and Senator Chris Ngige of Anambra State hit the stage alongside Iyanya. The politicians displayed their dance talent while the crowd erupted in cheers.
