Yvonne Okoro celebrates her 29th Birthday at the Dzorwulu Special School in Accra | Commissions Playground she Built for the Students
A happy belated birthday to Yvonne Okoro.
Yesterday Monday 25th November 2013, the Ghanaian movie star turned 29. She chose to celebrate her day by commissioning a playground she built for disadvantaged persons at the Dzorwulu Special School in Accra.
The Special School is home to a number of special children in Ghana and the playground was built to provide a recreational platform for the students to entertain themselves.
Yvonne got her b-day swag on in a stylish sleeveless blue-and-white top and matching pants, gold drop earrings and a pair of black Christian Louboutin heels.
She was accompanied to the school by the Deputy Minister of Education, Ghana – Okudzeto Ablakwa as well as John Dumelo, Sandra Ankobiah, Irene Logan, Roseline Okoro and former Black Stars footballer Stephen Appiah. They came to show their support as well as cut Yvonne’s brithday cake at the event.
At the event, she revealed she was motivated to help build the playground when she visited 2 years ago;
“When I was leaving, I realized that the playground was in a deplorable state. The metals were all rusted. So I told myself that, I won’t stop till I’m able to provide a good recreational centre for the students of this school so that at the end of the day, they can also pride themselves of having a beautiful playground. That was the most important thing for me. And I wanted to thank everyone who supported this project.”
Highlights of the day include a rendition of the Ghanaian National Anthem by singer Irene Logan, a dance performance by some of the students, fun music from a DJ, and delicious pastries by Bakeshop Classics and food by Grill Bar Filli B.
