One of Nigeria’s foremost rappers, Terry Madaki, popularly known as “Terry thaRapman,’’ has expressed displeasure at showbiz promoters in the country for not giving rappers due recognition.

The artiste said the promoters had not accorded the desired respect to rappers, adding that their worth was yet to be appreciated in the nation’s entertainment industry.

“In the past 10 years, there has been a lot of improvement. We have foreign rappers doing collaborations with Nigerian artistes, so that is a plus for the industry. There are however not enough platforms for rappers because there is no chance for rappers to showcase their stuff. So I think we should have an all rap concert with rappers headlining,” he said.

Madaki noted that the situation had also affected the rise of budding female rappers, “who now feel neglected”.
