One of the most talked about moments from the interview on social media was when Seyi Shay said “I Don’t Know Tiwa Savage Personally“.

Oluwa seyi shay!!!!!!!!!!! The yoruba demoness! You mustn’t be friends with everyone but funny you are tiwa at Pepsi ambassadors

    • Rita Atse March 20, 2016 at 10:26 pm

But Seyi was at Tiwa’s wedding in Dubai now….
Anyway I don’t think they have the same style of music or anything. Seyi is adventurous, fun and flirty, I have connected to more of her songs. I don’t listen to Tiwa. The comparisons need to stop. Two different artists.

      • Anon March 20, 2016 at 11:59 pm

There is some comparison in your comment.

      • Damilola March 21, 2016 at 3:14 pm

It’s a known fact in the industry, Seyi Shay, is cocky with a bad attitude. She a rude bad gal. She doesn’t hide her sex appeal or whorish behavior. But i also like the fact that
She’s lucky she’s talented, can’t deny her voice and stage presence. Otherwise, she’ll be wrapped up like a dirty tissue and thrown in the trash.

      • Mara March 23, 2016 at 6:48 pm

I agree. I think they are totally different. We are all entitled to have our favourites and to connect more with one or the other. The comparisons are unnecessary, the media should stop stirring the pot with female artists.

    • eyong March 21, 2016 at 12:23 am

You guys should not be dumb sha. Are you friends with everybody in your office? So you call your colleagues when you’re going through tough times in your life, or when you have a big breakthrough? Just because you work closely with someone doesn’t mean you guys are FRIENDS. That’s why the word COLLEAGUE exists. Why are you guys always trying to start drama where there is none. Why do you guys think just because they work in thesame industry they all have to be best friends?

Stupid people are always trying to start sh+t

      • osa March 21, 2016 at 2:57 am

        Correct comment
. Ebuka went overboard with those pushy questions. People just like to see other people fight
however it was rumored that tiwa savage felt threatened by the arrival of seyi shay. Whatever it was tiwa is older and more responsible to stretch out the friendship hand towards seyi shay. Which we don’t know happened or not.

      • TheRealist March 21, 2016 at 12:26 pm

@eyong, I don’t know what’s going on here (nor do I necessarily care) but suffice it to note that one would not usually fly to dubai for the wedding of just a “colleague”.

      • eyong March 21, 2016 at 4:49 pm

@therealist, when your colleague happens to be one of the biggest pop stars in Africa and the wedding will get more media press than any event that year AND all the who is who of the industry will be there AND you happen to be an up and coming singer who needs to be part of the IN crowd… Yes, you will get your butt on that plane seat and sit through hours to ensure that you get there two days in advance, even, to be at the event. LMAO.

        That’s not called friendship… it’s call business.

  • Spunky March 20, 2016 at 9:10 pm

Seyi Shay’ diva shady moment. She could be telling the truth though…or not.

  • Kiiki March 20, 2016 at 9:14 pm

Ngwanu, from the interview, it seems Seyi Shay dey vex about “sontin”.

It also appears that Seyi Shay thinks she’s on the same level with Tiwa. But, Seyi, honestly, you never reach there. You’d get there okay? You just need to be humble.

Also, Truth is that in this industry, you can’t be a ‘loner’ or an ‘introvert”. Its not like in the U.S. or U.K where you can disappear for years (like Adele) and come back yet people will still be fawning over you. Mba.

In our country, it’s all about networking. In this case attend your “colleague’s” functions, visit them, exchange pleasantries, be friendly” e.t.c.. It may seem to be a lot for you at the moment but… it’d pay off in the long run.

#RandomNews: I think Tiwa is one of the sweetest Nigerian Artistes ever. I’ve met her before and she was so so so nice and down to earth.

  • Jojo March 20, 2016 at 9:31 pm

    This chiq is being shady

    • King Bey March 21, 2016 at 9:12 am

Seyi is the queen..Her kind of music is everything, breath of fresh air

  • missoyi March 20, 2016 at 9:35 pm

She’s quite full of herself …

  • Kim March 20, 2016 at 9:40 pm

This shey looks like a very proud and hostile somone. …not cool u need to calmur ass down gal!!!

  • beauty March 20, 2016 at 9:46 pm

All I ask is that donjazzy brings back the former sassy, fierce, international Tiwa. This new one though, doing street dance in standing ovation ft olamide *sighs*

    • Dolly March 20, 2016 at 11:32 pm

Yes honey I think we need to start a movement, had this convo the other day with a friend. Bring back my sassy, fierce, don’t give a fudge Tiwa in kele kele n love me videos.

    • nene March 21, 2016 at 4:48 pm

gbam. seyi shay is so full of herself. i love her songs and she has taken but tiwa run this girl out of town let her go back to peckham or whoever she came from. rooting for u tiwa, even though I’m not ur fan, i hate shady people like seyi and u r sweet.

  • Corolla March 20, 2016 at 10:10 pm

Ebuka is a terrible interviewer! Gosh…

  • elle March 20, 2016 at 10:11 pm

I actually prefer her to Tiwa. Stop the hateration she is bringing her own style as a Nigerian female artist. To be honest I prefer Tiwa songs before she joined Mavins. But then again it’s just my opinion.

  • Usuji March 20, 2016 at 10:16 pm

Damn Seyi shay!!!, throwing shade like it’s sunnyyyyyy !!!!!!! Was the any need for that attitude she could have handled it very differently and classier ,funny thing is I knew Seyi shay and tiwa savage had this kinda competition , I doubt tiwa is at fault tho , tiwa is friends with everyone even yemi Alade, chidinma ,omawunmi and co. Seyi needs to humble her self ,Mtcheew .

    • Corolla March 20, 2016 at 10:46 pm

Humble herself? How was she acting proud nitori oloun? We always want women to be sweet…all sugar and spice. Not everyone is like that. We all don’t have smiley faces. We all cannot act coy and shy! Plus the interviewer kept asking dumb questions about a non-existing friendship. How do you keep pestering a grown ass woman and asking her over and over again, why she isn’t friends with her Tiwa Savage and her colleagues?Na by force!!

Ebuka, we know all your friends are celebs and your ,groomsmen were mostly people you met in the industry. But everyone cannot be like you. Some keep their professional and personal lives/friendships separate.

      • osa March 21, 2016 at 3:05 am

        I wonder.
If tiwa savage decides to single out seyi shay just as Beyonce can’t stand Rihanna but is all lovey Dovey with other females in the industry whom she isn’t threatened by
, how is it seyi shays fault?

You self ,look at the names you listed. They don’t compare to tiwa savage like seyi shay would.
They are ”nonentities’ that tiwa savage would not bother herself or be threatened by

      • Ene March 21, 2016 at 11:52 am

@Osa.Who are you calling nonentities?Take ya time o

  • yvonne March 20, 2016 at 10:46 pm

    Ebuka sounds bored…lol

  • #TeamSeyicanLie March 20, 2016 at 11:23 pm

Hmmmmm, Aunty Seyi can lie!!! Ahan ahan!! So fast she has forgotten how she used to crawl to Tiwa’s crib in 1G4 to beg for advice on how to handle the industry madness including how to break off from Cecil management.
You even went as far wanting to have the same management as Tiwa! and how can Seyi Shay be friends with her colleagues in the industry when they all know how well she has been around in the industry.
Aunty Seyi, we can write a best seller book on your escapades and travails in the Nigerian entertainment industry, right from when you had only one wig (gold and curly) and a set of nude pumps (which you rocked to every single show down to the launch of Ebony Life TV), we would also throw in for kicks how you got your Pepsi endorsement deal..
Please bikonu aunty i beg take small lie! Don’t let the devil use you and open your yansh!!

    Thank you
    A concerned Seyi Shay fan!

    • Ready March 21, 2016 at 2:18 pm

Please…it rained today. Some tea is needed. Share freely.

  • Dolly March 20, 2016 at 11:28 pm

I love it when this lil egotistical name dropping thot come with drama but we got chains honey. Tiwa, ima need u to dust ur pumps n work this lousy bih to rest.
She gon learn to keep your name outta her mouth but first, u gotta let her know why your last name is SAVAGE!

    • Corolla March 21, 2016 at 3:27 am

@ Dolly, seems like you grew up in the projects of Detroit. Talking like an uncouth and uneducated ghetto person.

      • Dolly March 21, 2016 at 4:42 am

No – Im a Brooklyn raised bitch and while i proudly hold two degrees, I will read you to the T in this library n drag your crusty ass outta that China assembled corolla. Who raised you, now stay in your lane fore u get choked in traffic

      • Bolu March 21, 2016 at 4:47 am

        @Corolla Spot on lol

      • Dolly March 21, 2016 at 10:56 am

Oh hi follower, we see you

    • nene March 21, 2016 at 4:50 pm

tiwa should run this shady b- outta town!

  • uncensored March 21, 2016 at 12:30 am

Really?! I can’t believe anyone is surprised.
I can’t seem to forget her reaction to amber rose’s visit to Nigeria. This thing actually berated a fellow woman o; she asked the interviewer who amber rose was, what she does for a living? Why was she supposed to know her?
Tiwa isn’t her mate na and she won’t acknowledge that.
    Silly girl

  • Tosin March 21, 2016 at 1:45 am

    Watch before commenting.
If not, put next to your comment that you haven’t watched it yet.
    Thank you.

    Diaris God o! – PJ

    • The real Ibinabo March 21, 2016 at 1:59 am

You are very correct Tosin, I was tempted to add a comment about her nasty attitude without watching the video (based on the comments above). I just decided to watch it and seriously you guys need to chill, she didn’t throw shade at all. Stop pitting women against each other and interviewers please stop asking about this Tiwa and Seyi beef, it is getting old. Kindly come up with new questions #mtshew

  • Chi March 21, 2016 at 6:33 am

    1. I’m trying to wonder who’s more messier the comments or Ebuka !
    2. Ebuka is not a great interviewer , he’s horrible!0
    3. I watched only because I almost believed the comments. And she didn’t come of as rude barely annoyed
    4. Tiwa does have competition ,we can all admit her last album was a flop !

I for one don’t understand the Tiwa hype or why as Nigerians we compare everything. Notice he said they wanted to be the Beyoncé of Nigeria. Like ehhhh No be you and soar .

    • treasure March 21, 2016 at 9:46 am

Pls don’t generalize it,to u and other pple dt don’t know good music it might be but for me and pple DT enjoy good music it is not a flop.I can’t go a day without listening to a good album for both DT like the old and new Tiwa.

  • Fola Coco March 21, 2016 at 7:56 am

Why do women always have to pitt successful women against each other and start unnecessary shit…That they are colleagues in the industry doesn’t mean they know each other on a personal level..Doesn’t mean they are buddies or padi padi…We all need to chill, had she said ohhh tiwa is my personal person, you all would have said she’s famzing…I see no shade here, they are 2 beautiful and talented women on different levels..

  • treasure March 21, 2016 at 8:00 am

She knew Tiwa personally when she went to her Dubai wedding and even was at the after party, was there no phone call or what so ever communication btw both before leaving Nigeria to Dubai ? Yet no personal relationship? And again you knew her personally when you needed her help then but now u don’t know her because u think u are on top right? You are a very talented lady but at the same time you have to be humble.Nobody asked u to be friend with every artist but there is a way u say it even though u are having issue with someone. And u always sound rude in ur interviews which you have to work on and I believe ur personality is one of d things dt is affecting your brand.#myopinion#

  • Jinni March 21, 2016 at 9:40 am

I’d say Seyi missed to drink her tea before coming to this interview. ‘Must have been in a rush or something.

  • Deep Soul March 21, 2016 at 12:53 pm

Am I the only one who watched where she said Tiwa’s music was great and practically called the Mavisn the best Nigerian group???? I think she said more positive things than negatives. She also said she’d try to reach out this year…..Una ha like quarrel oh! But hey, I guess just like sex, quarrel sells

  • wasek March 21, 2016 at 12:56 pm

Lol this seyi shay feeling like wetin I no know. It’s obvious she having issues with tiwa and tiw no send you kill urself if you want to

  • titi March 21, 2016 at 1:21 pm

I like seyi shay, i love her album compared to Tiwa. But her response to Tiwa is totally unprofessional. You keep the cockroaches in the cupboard, Its web… you don’t say everything. You can’t win the web with honesty.

  • Jay March 21, 2016 at 3:43 pm

There is a difference between being friends and being friendly….
In the workplace, church, community etc you can know and see ppl often and still not know them personally to relate to as friends.

The whole thing is an unnecessary stir of tension.
Seyi seems fed up of the comparison and I can’t blame her…..can she be interviewed without mentioning Tiwa? she even still said she likes her music and the Mavins but the media will latch onto the ‘non-musical’ references yet that’s what we are here for.

Seyi just speaks openly and doesn’t sugarcoat her thoughts which sometimes sounds tactless but that’s something for her to develop regarding her PR factor.

  • Elizabeth March 21, 2016 at 11:46 pm

For someone who was under Mr Knowles’ management, Seyi does not know how to conduct interviews. From the beginning of the interview she had attitude. The comparisons are annoying, but there are ways to answer questions. This is the second interview I’ve seen of her where she comes across as shady. She’s a great dancer, with a great physique, effortless sex appeal and a nice voice, she just needs to learn how to come across as a nice and approachable.

  • Temz O March 22, 2016 at 5:26 pm

Errmmmm… Why are Nigerians so hypocritical?
I love the fact Seyi didn’t acknowledge Tiwa and she used the exact words Tiwa uses when talks about Seyi in interviews; I DONT KNOW HeR!. Tiwa says this all the time but y’all don’t see anything rude, arrogant about that?

I see Tiwa’s hype management has really brainwashed Nigerians that she can do no wrong in your eyes. shiooor

Thumbs Up Seyi! Acknowledge those who acknowledge you and ignore those who try to belittle you. It’s that simple.

I’m not even a fan of both Seyi and Tiwa but I think this comparison question is getting really boring. Tiwa has a splendid management reason for the hype and all, on the other hand Seyi is just still striving to get a good management.

P.s: Ebuka is a terrible interviewer. Yuck ?

    • Name* March 23, 2016 at 12:38 pm

Yup, Ebuka’s tone comes across as harsh and stiff. He does not know how to cajole his guests into giving the answers he seeks. HORRIC interviewer.
