The 2011 Best Of Nollywood (BON) Awards hosted by Ini Edo & Tee-A – Nominees List & “Best Kiss” Special Award

Ini Edo-Ehiagwina at the 2010 BON Awards

The 2011 Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards will take place on Friday 11th November 2011. For this year’s edition of the awards, there are 28 outstanding categories and nominees were selected from over 190 movies submitted for this year’s event. The 2011 BON Awards will be hosted by comedian Tee-A & actress Ini Edo – both stars have promised to thrill the audience at the event.

Funmi Adeyina – Brand Manager BON , disclosed that a “nominee reading drive” will kick-off this year’s BON Awards. The Nominee Reading Initiative will take the various nominees to various schools and give them an opportunity to interact with promising young Nigerians, read with them and advice them on the importance of education.

In 2010, BON decided to honour the” Scandal Free Actress of the Year” with a special award – SUNLIGHT Partnership Award for Clean and Fresh Actress of the Year; this year’s special award is focused on something different – it is an award for the “Best Kiss” in a movie. According to the brand manager, “In addition to rewarding excellence and hard work in Nollywood, we have decided to add some spark of excitement to the event this year by introducing the Best kKss in a Nigerian Movie category. The category has some strong contenders which includes Uche Jombo & Kalu Ikeagwu in Damage, Odunlade Adekola & Toks Oke in Booku, Tonto Dike & Muna Obiekwe in Dirty Secrets and Majid Michel & Genevieve Nnaji in Bursting Out.

      September 30, 2011 at 9:30 pm

she HAS not AS. Other actresses have really worked hard also to be nominated and they deserve this chance at recognition. Genevieve is good, nobody is disputing that but don’t let your worship of her blind your sense of objectivity.

every tom bitch and harry goes to china gets a cheap plaque and saids they r doing an awards show. Awards show my ass. I don’t respect any of these useless award shows. Its just. 419 way of getting ppl to buy ticket to come to the show and then the present the recipients with some useless plaque. Useless illiterates putting together award shows

    • Adame

      September 15, 2011 at 3:48 am

please please. which award plaque did you buy for them?

    September 14, 2011 at 5:17 pm

Genevieve is a wonderful actress and I am a fan, but if they gave it to Omoni last year, Dear Ty please let it go. There are other up and coming hard workers out there who give superb performances but due to accent or imperfect diction, we relegate them to the back burner. Genevieve has made her mark and by God’s grace will continue to do so. However, awards are to recognize talent and effort, and not to crown Miss or Mr movie world.

This is the dumbest award and a 419 scheme to get money out of attendees. I bet u the organizers of these awards haven’t even watch half of these movies themselves. Nonsense awards
