The brand is owned by UK-based Nigerians, 3 ladies I believe. They stock at Topshop, Oxford st. They do not use prints as far as I’m aware

    Love Virgos Lounge.

However, watching the video made me highly uncomfortable it had a pornographic feel to it and I watched it on MUTE. The overlaying of the images just gave me a creeypy feeling (maybe I’m too sensitive). Even certain music videos do that and I feel like it has a subconscious/subliminal messages and I need to look away. All these flash photography and co. sef. I dont know sha, but whatever!

    Good stuff.

Dark and gothic feel to it…

I cannot express sufficiently or succinctly how much I love the Virgo’s lounge Label. (And it’s nothing to do with me being a Virgo and the brand being run by three fellow Virgos…? But maybe that’s does have something to do with the way there label repeatedly appeals to my personal taste so alarmingly well…? Hmmm…)
I love there gowns because I have always liked to have the option off showing my shoulders and back without necessarily showing my legs… I am strong believer in timeless, classic and statement pieces… Although I am a simple dresser (clean lines and cuts, fresh, not to busy etc), I must admit I always try to make sure my outfits have a subtle twist or edge to make them pop without necessarily looking to quirky or OTT…
I love their choice of fabrics and the way they usually incorporate just the right amount of shine, twinkle, gold or trimming… As far as I concerned there about that statement piece. That “oh my gosh where did she get that outfit reaction” (which I admittedly aim for from time to time like most females)
The only thing I hate about Virgos Lounge is that they always make me and my wallet fight because there is always too much to choose from and I end up wanting almost everything I see from them online…
I have been paying close attention to this label from its inception and have a tiny bit of background info on the girls, one of which attended my secondary school in Lagos. I can assure you these girls are FULL NAIJA, BORN AND BRED! But they have a global appeal and mindset, and I personally think that this shows in the level of the professionalism… There global appeal is something to be celebrated and embraced, not sniggered at. We (Nigerians) should learn to support the good that our fellow compatriots do, especially when they manage it on a global scale…(Not all Nigerians can say they conduct their businesses like these young ladies do) The label is based in the UK for now I guess and maybe that’s why they chose to use such models, or maybe its even a coincidence? But really, at the end of the day a commercial decision is exactly that…if you want to see more black or skinny models, do some work and set up your own label..don’t snigger at those doing their own thing… (that’s just my opinion, you don’t have to take it.)
These are legitimate ladies that took the energy and focus to start there label, they are just humble girls who were studying /some also working in the UK, who literally hustled hard and multitasked to get Virgos lounge off the ground in their spare time. They did not r take any other short cuts… they put in good old fashioned hard work. How long has this label been off the ground and they are already stocked in one of the biggest and iconic fashion retail outlets in the world. (TOPSHOP, OXFORD STREET) , and they were also featured on the UK’s biggest breakfast show (‘This Morning’ ) just last week! How many students can pull that off… Give credit where…. Maybe, it’s the passion and sweat they poured into this label that is shining through in the beautiful clothes.
I salute these babes… I think it’s sad that all some folks on here can say is they use oyinbo models, heavy models, and something or the other is yellow or purple…Who cares surely this is a good thing… and the good should be commended first and foremost..
*off I go back to work, but first another quick online purchase* :-S
