BN Exclusive: You’ve Seen her on the Red Carpet, Now Listen to Temi DollFace’s New Single “Pata Pata”

As BN commenter asked a question the other day…”I Love Temi DollFace‘s red carpet style but what does she do?” The answer is here!

Just in time for Valentine’s day, the talented musician has released her official new single “Pata Pata“. Her style of music is described as “drama soul” and you WILL want to hear this. Read all about it below and listen to the song as well.

February 14th has come knocking again, bringing with it the chaos that is the task of “professing one’s undying love” to a significant other (or others). But what if that love has somehow fizzled out and died a grueling, exhaustive death despite your best efforts and good intentions?

Well, have no fear, TemiDollFace is here with a brand new song in honour of the biggest declaration of them all: THE BREAK UP!

The doyenne of drama-soul steps out with a clear and bold musical statement with her debut single, “Pata Pata.” Hitting the airwaves this Friday, February 8th 2013, “Pata Pata” blends TemiDollFace’s superior soulful vocals with the club-ready, up-tempo beat she co-produced with renowned talent, Ikon of Syndik8 family.

A clear nod to the genre greats like Karen Carpenter’s “It’s Too Late” and George Benson’s “Masquerade,” the single is about love that has died even though one wishes it hadn’t.

TemiDollFace says, “Everyone has been there; guys and dolls. You loved him once and still care enough about his feelings to end it on a good note but some just don’t know when to let go. This is the essence of ‘Pata Pata.’”

Clearly, this is a song for the young and free and those who wish to be.

The singer-songwriter delivers a sassy but classy musical introduction as a preview to her upcoming debut album to be released in the near future. With a single this good, one can only imagine what else exists in her treasure trove of talents. It is 2013 and TemiDollFace presents a track to help you kick start a fabulous year.

Wow I loooooooove her sound and artistic style of music!! Thank God for an artist that doesn’t sound like every other female out there now. I like that she’s not afraid to do her own thing. Will definitely like to see and hear more from her this year! I will keep hitting replay. Great vocals too.

  • Sing-it Dance it! February 9, 2013 at 3:44 pm

This is an AWESOME SONG!!!!!! I kept playing it, and then when I stopped, kept humming it!

This girl is the logical revolution that the dry Nigeria music industry has been thirsty for! Her songwriting has culture, and melody and soul and humour.

(Any collabo’s with local talent SDC or International talent like Mos Def planned? that, would be dynamite)

  • Stephanie N February 9, 2013 at 11:53 pm

I likeeeeee! Lovely new sound, thanks!!

  • Que February 10, 2013 at 8:50 am

I think it was overdressed. I guess dey wanted it to sound hip, but the song just kept reminding me of Ene Lawani’s dressing- overloading of many beautiful elements that eventually makes d outcome ordinary. Left me straight faced.
