What’s Money to a Nigerian Celebrity? Wizkid, Davido & Jude Okoye Flaunt What They’ve Got

After about an hour of contemplation, I have come to the conclusion that really and truly – “There is no business like Showbiz!”

Back in May 2013, we gave you quite a deep look at some of our Nigerian celebrities’ ostentatious things – those luxuries they acquired that they couldn’t but help to share it with their fans {click here}.

Over 200 comments later and we’re back to ‘square one’ as over the weekend, we saw a little more of ‘what they got’ – Wizkid, Davido & Jude Okoye, just to name a few, gave us a peek at how much money they’ve really got.

Check on it!

When you see spikes, there’s only one high-end fashion label that comes to mind and Wizkid was just getting started.

Have there ever been dilemmas any bigger than what Rolex to cop?

After all he got at his last shopping spree in South Africa {click here}, Star Boy couldn’t resist the expensive designer labels calling his name in Selfridges. Please note that he said this was just ‘Day 1’ so I say to you solemnly, in my best Nigerian movie advert voice – “Watch out for part two”

Jude Okoye

How many of us just browse through expensive high-end cars online with wads of cash next to our computers? Oh! You do that too? I thought I was alone in this Ferrari-shopping day dream.

I’m sure by now, you know Davido has a thing for strip clubs. All that money just for chicken wings? 😉

Davido getting ready to buy some more chicken wings, I guess.

Yes, that’s the Versace emblem you can see on that pendant Davido just purchased ‘on holiday’.

This is how Davido welcomes himself back to Nigeria.

In the words of Sarkodie“You know say money no be problem” but, one question comes to mind – are Nigerian stars too boastful or are you loving the display of their hard earned wealth and possessions?

Let us know your thoughts!

Is this western culture or black urban ghetto culture being promoted in Nigeria? About time I start campaigning for corporate sponsorships of these artists to stop.

I understand that they work hard for their money – by all means, enjoy the good things in life. But social media has made it far too easy for people to display their foolishness and immaturity. Why do we need to see all of this to know you’ve made it? This is unacceptable from Nigerian artists and everyone else who displays their wealth in such a way.

And this is why I don’t give to so-called celebrities that seek money from the public to pay for medical procedures. When they have it, it seems that they spend recklessly, show off, and don’t save for a rainy day. Years from now, you will hear that Davido and other celebrities are begging for money to go to India or the US for medical treatment. Or worse, you will here they are kidnapped and their families need help to raise money. I don’t give now and will not give then.

LOL at these celebrities. The new monies always act like money will soon run out. Take a cue from old money.
Clearly, this shows that they still have that poverty mind set: Millionaires with welfare mind set.
They must have been horribly oppressed when they were poor or had nothing. That’s the only thing that can explain this kind of behaviour.

Why are u nigerians so crass and bush when it comes to wealth. I am just curious cos I am not nigerian (thank God) but why are your character s like that. Is ones aquired materialistic wealth the only way one has self worth in that nation. Dont be angry oh, just asking. I mean it tells me behind all that wealth (which may have been acquired legal or illegal who know) lies some self esteem issues.

Am just asking so please dont be mad at me.

@hello, u come on a Nigerian driven website and “thank God” you are not Nigerian…then u go on to drop “oh” at the end of one of your sentences! U r soooo Nigerian, or a wannabe Nigerian, so go ahead and take a backseat . Even God doesn’t want that kind of unnecessary thanks.

They do music, they get endorsements, they take care of their family, ride on priavte jets etc., Yes we all know they do music for their money, sometime they earn it selfishly, thus spend it selfishly, but not bother to grudge, as we’re not always COMPLETELY SURE,(ONLY GOD KNWS), if they did sacrifice (OR WATEVER) to come of ALL this money. Lodges, free masons etc. still exit, and when you become rich and be one of them you makes sacrifices to never go broke. What they doing it just for hype. It’s immature too…show off/boasty call it weh yuh wah call it! Fi dem life still.

it is in the character of most black people to show off more than they earn, even a research confirmed it recently. empty barrels make the loudest noise.we earn less than we make people believe.except for Davido that has a rich dad.if u go and check the bank account of most of this people, u will b surprised at wat u will find.they earn money but they spend most of it trying to impress people and keep up their star status.even most of us that aint celebs have this problem.u will c a man dat earns thousands per month living a rented flat that cost millions per year and ridin a car that cost as much, he registers his children in an expensive school and they go on holidays abroad.when he now gets sacked from work and doesnt find a new job immediately, problem will start and people wont be able to help because he will still keep giving the impression that he is rich.and u will b surprised to know that a vulcanizer and a pepper seller is a who are they deceiving.saving for the rainy day is the key.most successful men didnt start out as extravagant, if they did they wont be where they are.
