Wow!

We were blown away by these beauty shots by up and coming makeup artist Labisi Folawiyo of Faces by Labisi. The young MUA presents 10 amazing looks that can inspire you as a bride or #AsoEbiBella. They’re fresh looks for a new generation of brides.

Her inspiration for the shoot came from conversations with clients –

“The idea was to put together looks which were “Fresh”, “Modern” and “Natural”. In my recent bridal consultations, I always heard those words, and the phrase ‘not the typical Naija bride’, so I decided to give my interpretation to these different reoccurring words.

So I put together a team, raided my mother’s closet (literally), who luckily happens to be a fabric guru, and picked up few head ties and neck pieces and just began shooting. We went from the Minimalist Bride who barely wants anything at all, to the Colourful Bride who will play with fresh and fun pastel colours like Mint Green, Lavender, Peach etc to the even the Daring Bride, who will rock a Black Gele regardless of what tradition says! or a Dark Burgundy lip for her traditional engagement ceremony!

Brides are a lot more knowledgeable and assertive when it comes to their make-up on their big day and I definitely wanted to create looks that catered to this new generation of brides.”

We love Labisi’s take on bridal beauty! Which would you rock?

Be inspired!

Really nice. There should always be something for everyone and this is a nice alternative to the ‘norm’.

Though lovely in general,I could hardly spot a bride’s natural beauty….All I see is too much makeup..too much “pancakes”

Can someone please tell me the name of the fabric she used to tie their headpiece? I know only the hard fabric called gele but I am looking for these type which look a lot softer and don’t know the name.
