Who Will be Earth’s Dominant Species? Tripican presents The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
They say humans evolved from Apes centuries ago; now imagine what would happen if Apes were just as smart as humans today, and wanted to wage war!
Tripican is excited to present the movie feature for this week – The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
Synopsis
A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
The beginning of the movie picks up 10 years after its sequel – Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The simian flu that was unleashed at the end of part 1 has now decimated the human race while the apes that were led into the woods by Caesar are thriving. A small band of humans led by Dreyfus find out that the only way they can survive, is by harnessing the power of a dam which lies deep in the ape’s territory.
So now Malcolm, his son Alexander and partner Ellie must form part of a group that will negotiate with this animal society. Caesar remains a mature and benevolent leader who is still willing to reason with the humans, but there is deep mistrust on both sides particularly from Koba the bonobo who spent years being experimented on. He comes to the realization that Apes are more similar to humans that he originally thought. Both sides have good and bad; and the bad will have the apes and humans descend into an all out war!
