NO STORMWATER DRAINAGE SYSTEMS IN NIGERIA, We need thoseeeeeeeee!!!!!! How can you renovate and not have a stormwater drainage system on a runway even???? Manholes, stormwater dams etc. to re-direct the water, the sizes of these drainage are calculated based on the rainfall history of the area *palm-on-face*

An International airport in this state? Flying from which country to where? I guess from Biafra to Nigeria and Arewa and Niger Delta. It is well.

Must you exhibit daftness at all times? Can’t you give daftness a break for once?

    • Kay

      August 22, 2014 at 4:40 pm

dfd or whatever name you answer, what is the meaning of asking if she is daft? What is not to understand in that question she asked? How many countries have International airports that will be in this condition? Lets even close our eyes to the flooding for a minute, an airport that doesn’t even have flights to and from all the geo political zones in the same country and is being labeled an International airport and that’s the point you didn’t get and yet you call someone daft. All these intellectually challenged people that will come to blogs not to make any meaningful comments but to abuse and insult other people on their comments.

What a mess. All the people that construct this shit should be arrested immediately and sentence to two month in prison….

  7. Vanessa

    August 21, 2014 at 9:30 pm

Someone should have thought of getting machinery that sucks water to the nearest storm water drainage before the plane landed. This is making a mockery out of people who paid their hard earned money to board a plane, to treat them like schoolkids getting out of a schoolbus. SMH

    August 21, 2014 at 9:32 pm

What construction company handled this? Did they not think proper drainage was a necessity? If this was China, someone would be losing his/her over this disaster

This is what happen when the right people are not giving the contract to do the jop. proper drainage system whould have solved this problem but do fraud and corruption you have this situation.

When they are given money to do something good….they pocket 80% of the money and use the remaining 20% to do a cheap job……whatever happened to the drainage system?? Somebody should be arrested to teach others a lesson.

I didn’t even know that it was possible for planes to land in floods. Who is the aviation minister that awarded this contract, heads would have rolled in any country with good governance but our leaders are busy with movie nights and embezzlement rather than attend to matters affecting the nation.

    • Tosin

      August 22, 2014 at 1:10 pm

We are the government though; that’s what democracy means. if things are a mess, it’s because WE have been asleep. See, Aviation stole money. Aviation would have been in trouble if it/she had chopped alone. But the money was for the party. If the party was chopping alone…, but we all chop from the party. My husband from Kano shouted but that was several months ago, we’ve moved on since then. Oya, now how do we get to the point where more public funding goes to public good? And how do we get to the point where people will say flood? in an airport? impossible – I’m ready to die before I let that happen? It will take time. We’re ready to adjust, manage, for now. Correct me please.

This is such a big shame to our government. When contracts aren’t given to who it is due , this is what happens.

It took a while for me to get my fingers settled. This actually looks like a hostel in some school, I almost want to believe this is film trick but that’s me being in denial. Mr. President, I think you have been embarrassed enough by your member of staff/governance team. This should be investigated thoroughly, from the minister who awarded, to the accountant who took his share of the money before paying, to the contractor who paid bribe to get a contract. This is an insult to me directly. I don’t know how you guys see it but i feel so insulted by the entire Aviation ministry. Na today rain begin de fall? Why can’t you have a 24 hour drainer till you get your shit put together? I also blame the airlines for agreeing to land or fly to this sort of place. Anyi atagbuola onwe anyi n’huhu na obodo nke a

    August 22, 2014 at 1:05 pm

I know this isn’t funny but oh em gee it’s so funny.
I know we’re supposed to get all serious about corruption and how it is that airports are like bus-stops and when are we ever going to get the transportation infrastructure that will let us live like decent human beings of the 21st century…
but I have to finish laughing first at this airport scene wey dey like that spot in Iyana Ipaja where people serve as human ferries when it rains.
