IBB on Buhari’s Victory: God in His Infinite Wisdom Made it Happen

Former military president, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, has congratulated President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari for his electoral victory, describing it as the fruit of determination and perseverance.

Babangida, who stated this on Wednesday in Minna while reacting to the outcome of the Saturday presidential polls, said Buhari surmounted all challenges to emerge the nation’s new president after three previous attempts.

“I think it is a triumph for democracy, triumph for doggedness, perseverance and a belief in a course which the General has exhibited all along. He contested this election three, four times; he never gave up. He continued to have faith and continued to believe that he has something to offer to this country. God in His infinite wisdom has made that belief to happen. So, I think it is a credit for democracy,” he said.

He also commended the statesmanship exhibited by President Goodluck Jonathan for not only conceding defeat but personally calling to congratulate Buhari.

“I want to commend Goodluck Jonathan for the most able way he handle the situation. It shows he was magnanimous; it had never happened. This is triumph for democracy, triumph for common sense and triumph for politics. For Mohammadu Buhari, of course, he is not a new person in this country; he was once a military Head of State and now democratically elected president. I know that with the support of Nigerians and his vast experience, I think he can make a good president,” he added.

The former military president said that Buhari would be supported by the various advisory bodies to take concrete steps in the nation’s development.

Mscheeew! He should go and sit down! He (IBB) had the very same opportunity in 2003 to do so when Abiola was noted to be winning. Instead he chose to cancel the Election, plunging Nigeria into a nightmare for the next 15 years! See his mouth! He is not half the man Jonathan is.

You know that if he had not annuled the June 12 election, Abacha would have killed both him and Abiola. Abacha was ready for war. All Babangida’s boys were in political position, while Abacha’s boys were in charge of the army.

Ahhhh…..a fellow student of history. I only wish our past leaders would start writing books about their roles in our history. We will accept the books whether it is half truth or all truth. Only OBJ has written consistently.
I hope GEJ will write a tell all many years down the road. I would really love to learn how see saw things. It will help us all understand the forces that shape our lives.

As soon as IBB says he is contesting, the Nigerian press simultaneously start printing ‘Who killed Dele Giwa? The assassination of the brilliant journalist under his 9IBB) watch will always continue to haunt him and be the albatross .round his neck, that and the annulment of the 1993 elections.

I like the victory celebratory mood now in Nigeria, people are happy instead of the usual whining, if only we are united in celebration. pls whether the praise singing is coming from Ibb or the devil himself, it’s doesn’t matter now, what’s important is that we are happy.
Btw BN if you like don’t post my comment, na una way, e dey for una body. *Gets up, dusts my ass, walks away*
