An Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun on Wednesday remanded a 42-year-old man, Bassey Ewa-Kebby, for allegedly killing a woman by injecting some poisonous substances into her body.

The Chief Magistrate, A.O. Abimbola, ordered that the accused should be remanded in prison custody pending advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Earlier, the prosecutor, Abdulkareem Mustapha, told the court that the accused committed the offence on April 13 at about 3.30 p.m. at No. 35, Oju-Ore in Ota.

He alleged that the accused unlawfully killed 34-year-old Victoria Omolaja by drugging and injecting her with some substances believed to be poisonous.

Mustapha said the offence contravened Sections 316 and 319 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
