#HeinekenLFDW2015 – Day 4: Lanre DaSilva-Ajayi’s “Geometric Fusion” Collection
What a perfect way to bring fashion week to a close!
Eponymous Nigerian womenswear designer, Lanre DaSilva-Ajayi showcased her Spring/Summer 2016 collection titled “Geometric Fusion” at the end of the Heineken Lagos Fashion & Design Week 2015.
Influenced by geometry, the designer used tie-dye fro the Nike Art Gallery and digital images to create hexagon and triangle tessellation print for this season. The collection features strict forms and minimal cuts that created very feminine and easy shapes that allowed for loads of movement.
According to the designer – “I was interested in the idea of covering garments with geometric tiles to create a print that is unique yet stays true to my aesthetic as a designer and my love for color. The idea was to start with a regular shape that can tessellate such as a hexagon and then modify it.“
