MTN Group CEO Resigns Over N1.04 Trillion Fine

According to Punch, MTN Group President and CEO, Sifiso Dabengwa, resigned on Monday morning over the N1.04tn fine imposed on the company by NCC. 

An unnamed source told newsmen that MTN Nigeria has subsequently appointed ‎Phuthuma Nhleko as Executive Chairman in a temporary capacity.

Dabengwa’s resignation letter reportedly reads in part:

“Due to the most unfortunate prevailing circumstances occurring at MTN Nigeria, I, in the interest of the company and its shareholders, have tendered my resignation with immediate effect.”

    Nigerians have endured enough in the hands of these unruly foreign companies.
    Don’t even get me started on non-existent labour laws in Nigeria which results in Nigerians being treated like crap right in their own country.

    The next place they need to put the spotlight on are all these Chinese and Lebanese companies.
    Una just start.

      Resign is an euphemism for “sacked by the Board” . All this one is story
