Pro Biafra Protesters Storm Lagos

Pro-Biafra protesters under the umbrella of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are currently staging protests in parts of Lagos.

The pictures below were posted on the Radio Biafra Facebook page with caption: #‎LIVEUPDATE‬ ‪#‎IPOB‬ Peaceful Protest LIVE IN LAGOS ODUDUWA KINGDOM ‪#‎freebiafra‬ ‪#‎freeNnamdikai‬

So Lagos is now “Lagos Oduduwa Kingdom”? What is this ridiculous wordplay that is obviously intended to rile up tribal sentiments? Why do we insist on taking one step forward and two steps back?

You know, you could gather up to 10 of these “protesters” and ask them exactly what they’re protesting for/about and you may not get a coherent standard answer. I say this only because I spoke to a large group of Biafra agitators recently and practically each one had a different (at times contradictory) narrative.

I’m Igbo, I love being Igbo but I also love common sense and progressive measures.

My dear brothers, please get back to your businesses and continue to strive for excellence and ethical business practices, until you can be labelled by the entire world as a true economic force.

Your statements shows that you are being biased .who told you that biafra is all about igbo,’igbo my foot’.i can assure you that biafra(God’s kingdom) existed before the zoo(nigeria),and be less assured, do not ignore those mega protests that had not been done anywhere in african history or else you will be astonished about the resultant.BIAFRA OR DEATH.

Don’t forget that the elite are protected from these activities. Check your lens before you conclude spring does not exist. This is serious wahala fueled or perhaps driven by high unemployment rates.

When Lagos state govt unleashes security personnel on them for this rowdiness and disruption of peace, they would start crying foul and remembering 1967!

      December 16, 2015 at 11:20 pm

@ Thatgidigirl….Your statement is the reason these people are protesting. What does one Nigeria really mean?
Thanks Gov. Ambode, because by allowing these people to protest, you kind of know the answer.

I am Igbo and I can boldly say that Igbo leaders are the most corrupt leaders in Nigeria. Hell, I am even ashamed to say I am from Abia state, my state is a mess. Look at the house that ex governor Orji Uzor Kalu built… it’s basically made of gold… all with the money allocated for the state. Na so Abia dey jump from one greedy Governor to the other. The Igbos are not even united, the moment Biafra is made, you’ll see them killing themselves on which state will lead.

These are just people who are looking for who to blame for their problems. The moment Ndi Biafra can give me a concrete reason why we should part ways from Nigeria then I’ll join but until then… NNA BIKO GO AND SLEEP AND DON’T LET THE DEVIL (GREEDY IGBO POLITICIANS) USE YOU.

P.s… Go and sell ‘Afia’ for Kwismas money

The people who messed up Nigerian economy are not Igbos. They simply didn’t have the chance to. Go back in history, girl!

The igbo are uncomfortable in this sharing living conditions. THEY want to return to their better suited rain forent bred lifestyle where everything is in ABANDANCE and the law is there is no LAW . But a free Greddy grab free for all. I couldn’t possibly imagine what a purely igbo governed state would even look like ?! Height of corruption and. Pointless ethnic CLENSING. The Igbo should just chill……but I do not blame them from wanting to to get away from a CONGLAMARENT with the Hausa and. FULLANI. They will betray you eventually they are just waiting for the Middle East to grow strength again, I swear, I promice you..ur basically living with your slave masters!!! The igbo should forge one state with the YOROBAS, and call it LEBA’!

You come to Lagos to peacefully protest. Abeg is the Lagos government holding Nnamdi? Or is he being tried in a Lagos High Court or magistrate court? Is he being held in Lagos prisons? Why not go to Abuja and protest?!! From peaceful it would turn to riots in the streets. Please leave the streets and get busy!! Christmas is coming, chicken is getting more and more expensive. Go and work!

Bunch of useless illiterate baboons If Nigerian soldiers shoot them all now people would shout murderers. How can they be advocating a Biafran State when we have Nigeria. Calling for another country in a functional sovereign one. That is treason and they should all be rounded up an thrown in jail. Buhari is losing his military touch, tolerating this madness. OBJ would have dealt with them deceicively and swift. Mumu aturu human beings. Rubbish.

What about we the REASONABLE Igbos that are wondering what our Igbo leaders have done so far with the resources given to them? They have looted and looted and left their own people to die of hunger. And you’re there saying you need Biafra? Biko bros, you need Biafra for what exactly?

Please folks look underneath these agitations from the chaos in KD to BH to all the fever in the air. These are outward manifestations of a sense of loss, disempowered and acute poverty.

    • Kwame

      December 17, 2015 at 10:54 am

No! It’s not this is a manifestation that igbo don’t trust BUHARI and his islamic state hausa Goverment. ARABS and Blacks don’t mix. Is it by crime if IGBOS are suspicious of the north even tho YOROBAS are too stupid too notice app which side they belong to…..smell the wind..#Boko haram!!!!!….the north is already showing signs of wanting to take the nation by force as they did in the past……IGBOS need to be in their own sovereign state to REPELL them. See ya YOROBAS!

The funny things about these Biafra protestors they are fighting in belhalf of a man or thier so called leader that doesn’t live in Nigeria and just wants to cause hate and problems when Jonathan was in charge was he saying Biafra now buhari is there he is agitating for it no mind them any sensible Igbo person will face his or her work instead of protesting a useless battle and they have the guts to protest in Lagos of all places which is a home for all expect those trying to break Nigeria apart

    December 17, 2015 at 11:13 am

IGBOS are absolutely remarkable people. They are extremely sensitive people and they have to be commended for that. IGBOS are very spiritually sensitive and connected to AFRICA hence their dimorphism like natures. BUT THEIR FILMS ARE ALWAYS CORRECT. GOD BLESS THE IGBOS. There is no – 1 – Nigeria and only an ethnically identity confused fool like a yoroba who doesn’t know weather to side with the blacks or the Saudi Arabians can have a doubt about that. IGBOS know two they are they are not wasting any time mistaking that, they want out of this evil conglomerate called Nigeria, which can only end with black people being on the serious loosing end of the stick against the Islamist north.
