Hajiya Zubaida Abubakar, Kano State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, stated this on Friday in Kano, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The commissioner said the rehabilitated women were trained in various trades, including knitting, sewing, pomade and spaghetti making, among other.

She said the empowerment would enable the women to establish businesses of their choice.

The commissioner disclosed that the state government planned to rehabilitate another batch of 150 VVF patients this year.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in May 1976 to gather and distribute news on Nigeria and cover events of interest to Nigeria at the international level for the benefit of the Nigerian Media and the Public.
