You funny die! I almost choked myself with laugh.lmao!!!

    • Surely

      March 27, 2016 at 9:49 pm

Your comment is stupid. She left him. And her mistakes qualify her to speak on those experiences. Is it only perfect people who give advice? You listen to your dad yet he doesn’t stay home with your mom. You listen to your mom yet she was never bold enough to leave an abusive marriage. Trick, bye.

Aunty Toke, hmmmm. Though, I’m yet to watch one of your vlog. I like some of your comments on Ebonylife but not all, especially the part of quoting Bible one minute and then switching to “there’s nothing wrong with going to strip club with your guy abi girls night”. I feel I should say this, just my opinion, correct me if I’m wrong. It’s funny how people play out their relationship in a vlog and then call it ‘advice’. It’s more like you’re still experimenting on what works for a prefect relationship yourself. When you don’t have an idea of how to solve a problem, anything works till the next breakdown and then you draw out new conclusions or concotion for viewers on what to do. Each time I see you on BN and read the headline of your vlog, I could almost say it’s what you are going through at the time. It’s a good thing to advise young women and also share your experiences but pls your private life is mostly the topic of discussion indirectly. It’s true that most therapist don’t know how to use their own prescription, cos if they do, how come the topic and event abt your life remains a puzzle you are trying hard to solve. I’m not here to discourage you or spoil your hussle, maybe you should look into other topics or don’t make it so glaring that you’re the one going through the ‘isshhhh’ most of the time. Your audience have other issues too.

Yes o, I keep asking what people talk about when they date. Your goal should not be to marry, it should be to marry well. Marriage should be enjoyed and not endured. single and happy is better than married and miserablep. I heard of someone who didn’t know her husband got a vasectomy till after the wedding. I’m just like didn’t yall talk about having kids? This one lady thought her hubby was rich till they were ready to marry and the guy couldn’t afford the engagement stuff her parents were asking for. He only had 500k to his name and was squatting with friends.

There are some things you will never find out till you marry though. He may squeeze the toothpaste from the middle and you may prefer it from the bottom 🙂 those ones are easily fixed. You won’t even know something bugs you till you have to deal with it everyday. You need a good sense of humor to enjoy marriage.

With all due respect,if she knows so much about men, dating, relationship et al,why didn’t she apply all she says in her vlogs in her own personal dating and married life? I think her vlog should be about how to build a brand, entrepreneurship, marketing yourself, success in career…She’ still a rookie in heart affairs, besides she dated only Maje for over 10yrs…Her business acumen is all i admire and respect..

I don’t personally think Toke is serious when making these videos and I also do not think anyone is an expert in relationship or marital advice. What works for couple A , may take Couple B to the end of the tunnel. No two relationships are the same because no two human beings are the same. Something else someone said up there, one minute she’s preaching, next minute she’s at the strip club. As Christians it is not our place to judge, secondly I do understand it is contradicting, but just because you’re a christain doesn’t mean you can’t have fun. Maybe going to the strip club may be pushing it , but there’s nothing wrong with having a couple of drinks with your girl friends. Quick question, what would you rather have ? Someone who goes to church and has a relationship with God after a drunken night in the strip club or someone who continues to live in sin and never goes back to God ?

    • M

      March 26, 2016 at 3:49 am

Oh please, stop your crap (pardon my french) .. Tell me, does it have to be one extreme case vs another one?! You are either a Christian or you aren’t based on your actions / intentions. Jésus Christ doesn’t make compromises on God’s words. You take it or you leave it, the choice is personnal w/ consequences attached.

Where do you draw the line on compromise?

I would say don’t compromise on values that mean the most to you. Watch for what people do and not what they say. Use the tool of ‘consistency’ to establish evidence on what they do from what they say. Beliefs are hard to compromise on, but it helps to make that connection between what you belief and what you value.

For example, if you belief in concepts of polygamy, it will be hard to see nothing wrong it marrying another wife even though you started out wanting just one. If you belief in the child marriage, it will be hard not to partake in it or support it. And if you belief in equality it will be hard to discriminate.

The beliefs you have would determine what you value. It helps to figure out how consistent your values are with your beliefs. What you do or others do demonstrate what you or they value. Personally, I think there are systematic ways to figure out what values mean most to you in conflicting situations in very complicated relationships.

Good job Ms. Toke….. I really loved this. It was like you were talking to me. “When someone shows you who they are, believe them!”.

Well, it takes a very strong and determined woman to be Toke. I really admire your courage, even as people tries talking you down, but you always see the positive side of it and keeps on waxing stronger and better by the day.
For those saying she is unserious and ineffective to haven’t had a good and sustained relationship/marriage, you all should remember “GIFTED HANDS”. Her advice can salvage your relationship/marriage even though hers didn’t work, and that doesn’t mean she won’t be fine and happy in the nearest future with her destined hubby.
@ Toke, continue the good works, and of course…God knows and will give you the best man for you.

      March 26, 2016 at 5:22 am

Excally! Sometimes we are guilty of not doing what we advice pple to do and it works for them. Expecially in relationships, we give tips/advice we are too weak to use/apply or never thought of when it comes to us.

I think Toke is talking from experience and all she’s been through. She’s simply saying and giving tips on what she could have done if she knew better then. I’m sure we have all done something in life or be in a situation we later wished we handled differently and we advice others.

Can’t we just look pass her personal life and grab whatever speaks to us, works for us and useful in all she says?

  21. For All Toke Bullies

    March 26, 2016 at 2:22 pm

Trust me, this isn’t Toke or team Toke or whatever. I wouldn’t be surprised if the babe herself actually thrives on these vitriolic comments. But this online bullying thing is simply a symptom of internalised misogyny in Nigerian women that has all But destroyed us.

Anytime I see the comments on Toke I get so embarrassed. This is actual wickedness, I hope you guys know. Pure evil. After you guys will come and be forming moral police when you have nothing in your heart but bitterness for someone you don’t know

#She bleaches: okay o. We’ve heard. But it’s not your skin. And this is especially funny coming from Nigerian women who secretly “tone” and lighten all their pictures on Instagram. If you die this night and go to Heaven, tell God you were hating someone and saying mean things because she bleaches. I’m sure He’ll understand

#Makeup: Still not your skin. Some people are REALLY into hair and beauty. It’s just their thing. This is also a huge part of Toke’s career. I find it weird how people are obsessed over her “excessive” contouring. Like how is that what is biting your heart.

#Marriage: You people that insult her and expect her to bury her head under the soil because of a failed marriage, I say a huge SHAME unto you. Wow, SHAME on you. For you people that are not yet married, do you know how your own marriages will turn out? Or do you think you’re better than Toke that’s why it won’t happen to you? Don’t go and say the one that will make karma do something bad to you . And for those of you that aren’t married, do you think that your marriage isn’t failed because of your awesomeness, or do you not know that it’s by the Grace of God? Plus how many of you are with cheating men anyway, upon all your goodness and morality and not excessive contouring, so what’s your point?

You don’t have to watch Toke’s vlogs, I think she’s just there but I honestly haven’t watched one in a few months. Nevertheless, it doesn’t give me the right to demonise her and BULLY her behind an anonymous iPhone screen. Let me tell you, for every mean comment you guys give her, for everyone that she ignores, I’m pretty sure God is there to vindicate her, and who is He vindicating her from? YOU. That’s right, anytime you try to harm or hurt someone, you’re actually fighting God. Believe it or not, Rather than offer constructive criticism or NOT watch at all, why do this? Men SEE these things, how women are so quick to tear down other women that dare to be different, so how do you expect them to treat us.

Women, please let us do better, see ourselves better, and treat each other better.

@ “For All Toke Bullies” thanks so much for this. It really amazes me how people throw sooo much hate at her. I admire Toke, it take a strong person to keep moving on when it seems everyone wants to pull you down. Toke isn’t perfect she definitely has her own struggles but she isn’t letting that stop her. She bleachs and so what?? Her body and her money!!! Maje messed up and then she has to pay the price by getting reminded of it at every given opportunity???? Watch the vlog and contribute on the topic , leave her personal life out of it!!!! Please you all stop the bullying its pathetic. Toke babe I respect your hustle keep doing you.

Person marriage scatter e come dey give relationship advice. If you know all these things, how come you’re not able to keep your man, eh sister Toke!
Please stop this your yeye relationship vlogs, they are not helpful. Just ask God for grace to deal with your issue. Stop advicing people to do what you didn’t and will not do

    • EagleEye

      March 27, 2016 at 10:33 pm

Oh pleae shut up you holier than thou
Her marriage failed, big ‘effing deal! Is there wisdom in what she is saying? If yes, listen to that and move on! Okay, you have insulted and bullied her, please how has that increased your salary or provided a bit more for you?
Listen to her, with her failed marriage and all her flaws (like we don’t have ours) I’m sure she isn’t stoopid….if shey knew all these, then would have applied it as well. maybe wisdom in hindsight is teaching her and she is extending that courtesy as well….
