New Mum Ariyike Akinbobola celebrates Birthday at the Correctional Centre for Girls in Idi-Araba
Media Personality, Ariyike Akinbobola turned a year older yesterday. The mother of three (who very recently gave birth to her 3rd child) celebrated her birthday at the Children correctional Centre for girls, Idi-Araba, Lagos where she donated toiletries, exercise books, stationery and copies of her novella – The Cost of our Lives.
She commended the Lagos state government for setting up and maintaining the facility for the girls and for ensuring that all the girls in the facility are being empowered educationally and vocationally. The girls also had a career talk where Ariyike told them they should take their studies seriously and she taught them about the importance of multitasking. She ended her interactive session with the girls by telling them that no matter where they came from, no matter what anyone had told them, they must never give up on their dreams.
The Children Correctional Centre for Girls is a facility under the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development which houses girls who are lost but found, girls who have been physically or sexually abused, girls who are in conflict with the Law (Young Offenders) and girls brought in by their Parents i.e Beyond Parental control. The identities of the girls are being protected for obvious reasons.
