Ok, Richard we get it. You are definitely gay. No wonder you thought, you looked good with your atrocious bum shorts trying to appeal to other men. And we all know how the market is in Abuja. EJ looks bad as in horrible. He has no taste of fashion at all You can be gay and dress in a flattering way. And this trend of terrible fashion gay style is getting out of control.

u sound threatened. women like u are always threatened by gay men, why?

as for richard akuson advertising himself, that I agree. showing his bumbum on bellanaija was a ho move.

richard with that face I think u will find it hard to get a man. my 2 cents

    • Damilola

      May 20, 2016 at 5:00 pm

Threatened? It’s the other way around. Gay men are threatened and feel the need to compete with women. I don’t see women wearing fake mustache or beard. Gay Men are the ones wearing makeup, weaves, doing fake boobs and showing their ass trying to appear more feminine. Even the manly gays have one that has to play the feminine role. Women are being themselves and natural attraction to men is the normal way. Bruno, dont get full of yourself now. Gays are a small percent of the population but y’all trying to sell your agenda e trying turn everyone out especially straight men. But it ain’t happening there are more heterosexual men who prefer women than homosexuals and the downlows.

  8. whocares

    May 20, 2016 at 3:17 pm

Why are some people so silly? Richard’s job is to bring us fashion reports, pictures etc. How boring would it be if he focuses on only type? or the one that appeals to the populace? Some of you are not that imaginative, so I suspect all we would be seeing is pictures of girls in bodycon dresses and weaves…
he reports varied kinds of style and that is good.. if he chose this, how does it make him gay or some of the bs some fo you have said? Also, being gay is different from cross dressing doofus.
Now as to the style, I like them. A woman would wear (some) of them and pull it off, and the truth is, he does pull of some of the clothes. I dont like the last or second to last picture actually.
Richard, I like that you are not trying to fit into a mould and you keep pushing boundaries in this aspect.

      May 20, 2016 at 4:53 pm

I agree. Don’t know why Richard’s sexuality is being called into question. Most people are too hard on Richard here. I have no clue why.

Anyway I’ll still run from EJ Johnson if I see him for night, though.

    • Damilola

      May 20, 2016 at 10:41 pm

You are the silly one. RIchard has terrible and trashy fashion taste. So, he couldnt find other men even gay ones with better style. I bring up his sexuality bcos some gay folks go overboard with their weirdness and call it fashion. Yeah, a lot of top gay fashion designers know fashion but some try to push nonsense. Everything, EJ has on has WTF written all over it. Just when i see gay men wearing full makeup with beard and thats suppose to be on fleek(annoying word but had to use it in this context)

If seeing a gay person on tv will ‘turn’ you gay then were you ever really straight? Are you a virgin or did you marry as one? Do you tell the truth ALL the time? Is there love in your heart? Do you ever insult, hate or maltreat people? So many Nigerians think conservative morals= a ‘good’ Christian. Yet look at our country, look at our economy, look at our rape statistics, look at our treatment of beggars and the handicapped, look at our treatment of widows and dicorcees. Oh please. Gay people are not the problem with this world, hatred is, and what role has your comment played in the problem of hatred?

Nothing slayed here. Nothing slayed here.

One or two of these styles would look nice on a woman.

And I suppose a gay man may prefer his gay partner to look feminine as EJ does constantly do.

Nevertheless to say Richard that EJ slayed in anything here in a fashion sense…..you lie and your just playing to the gallery.
In fact the last outfit looks like he’s a circus act.

Does this guy want to be a woman or a man? His fashion sense is good but he is a confused human.

  20. Cheekie

    May 20, 2016 at 4:36 pm

You guys amaze me sometimes with your comments and your myopic way of thinking..
Richard is doing his job as a fashion and style writer. He has the freedom to write about anyone who is pushing the boundaries of fashion/fashion in general ,be it a straight celeb, gay, lesbian, transgender etc. You don’t have to like EJ’s style or his sexual preference.
Whether we like it or not the world is changing and has changed,we don’t have to change with it or conform to the things of the world. But we have to embrace our differences and respect other people’s choices. After all even God who created us gave us free will, and the same God says we shouldn’t judge.
What makes you all think you are better than EJ the gay guy? Is it because you are straight/heterosexual?
I have gay friends, truth is if you live and work abroad or travel for work/pleasure,you will meet people from the LGBT community. Some are your work colleagues, classmates etc, they are great to have as friends, and turn up buddies. They have depth, very creative and brilliant minds, they are good people just like us straight folks.
I understand the LGBT from a psychological point of view, but that’s where it ends. I am not for it,neither am i against it. What ever we choose to do or be,God alone is the judge. Just love even if you don’t accept, understand or stand for it. They are living their truth, live in yours and stop taunting Richard for his bum shorts. There’s enough hate already in the world,no need spreading more of it.

      May 20, 2016 at 5:13 pm

@cheekie well said. All those against this post, all you had to do was ignore it! And I don’t understand how dumb some of you are. How do you pronounce Richard gay because he did a fashion post on a famous gay man? The educational system in Nigeria is a failed one. We have people who cannot use their common sense.

  21. Cheekie

    May 20, 2016 at 4:41 pm

Nigerians, its so sad we never want to talk about the elephant in the room. Same way we keep being ignorant that mental illness is a western disease. Rape, domestic violence are on the increase yet,we still not really talking. There are also gay men in Nigeria living under the radar, educated, upwardly mobile young men. Lesbians too. But we choose not to acknowledge it,address it,speak about it,or embrace it…..

  22. Ginger

    May 20, 2016 at 4:52 pm

What is this ‘gay agenda’ Nigerians are always talking about? Do people think seeing a gay person on TV or the internet will ‘turn’ you gay? Who wakes up and ‘wants’ to be gay in a world like ours? Last time I checked, the Lord loves everyone equally, face your own sins and stop being so hateful and judgemental (a disobedience to the #1 commandment), let God do God’s job. I’m sure you guys felt so holy and righteous as you were typing your comments. LOL

    May 20, 2016 at 6:14 pm

I really wonder…. If Jesus lived in Lagos in 2016, would any of you listen to him?

Nigerians on this blog insult unmarried women who want to give relationship advice, so would they have listened to an unmarried man who used to kill Nigerians for a living? (Paul)

How many of you would have listened to a poor, unmarried man whose best friend was a former possessed prostitute and who hung out with thieves, criminals and people who taxed the poor ( ie Jesus).

You all claim you love the Lord but you find it so easy to hate and bring down his children that are not like you? Do you think you’re better than EJ Johnson because you weren’t born ‘different’? If being gay is a choice, why would the son of a black athlete ‘want’ to be gay? Who would ‘want’ to be gay in Nigeria? Do your comments add any value to this world or make it an uglier place?
If Jesus was beside you, would you all type what you typed? Wow.

Nigerians are religious, yes…. But are we REALLY followers of Christ/Allah/Ogun, or just conservative cultural custodians who justify everything with religion.

  26. I spill the TEA!!

    May 20, 2016 at 6:40 pm

Lol. You guys are acting as if Richard’s gayness is news. Is it not the same Richard that is going out with an A-list Nigerian musician flying in and out of Lagos every other weekend to see le beau and yet trying to form coded. I have all the news on my palm. Plus I hear he’s now claiming to be from a humble background? Richard, i put it to u you’re lying. 2 of my cousin’s went to the same elite ‘high’ sch you went to. And I know you’re an alumni of Kent, one of the most expensive primary schs in the north. We know your family once LIVED in sheraton! Your dad is fucking rich, stop using his middle name, use his first name! , stop using the fact that u’re from the north to cut corners, who says rich kids don’t make it too, you want to form grass to grace? See denola and that Zina, rich kids that are not hiding unser a fake identity of humble background. Finally, about that musician you’re seeing, the world will know one day!

Even if you don’t post this, I know you’ve seen it. Joke on you! ?

    • beyyyyy

      May 20, 2016 at 7:08 pm

lol the fact that this rubbish was posted shows that you are as inconsequential as your comment. You want to tell us that
      1) He is an allegedly gay man into fashion (is that supposed to hurt his career or is that cliché?)
      2) He’s from a rich family and he’s an ajebutter (does that not increase his credibility as someone well-travelled who knows wassup)
      3) He’s hiding his wealth and wants to make it for himself (is that bad for his career or does that endear him to us? Can’t you see BN comments on the Otedola girls?)

If you’re looking for where to peddle inane gist to small minds, this is a lifestyle forum, not Naijagistlive. Now run along with your little self.

Richard Akuson, this is your senior from Gifted Secondary School; a school where you had to be exceptional to make it to the next class. I believe I graduated when you were in SS1. You were a great guy then, you are a great guy now.
I don’t know what this funny person is on about but we Giftedites are proud of you. Keep soaring ❤️

Joke on him that he’s from a rich background but would rather make it on his own? More like joke on you. You my dear are very bitter and you’ve spilled absolutely no tea except that you are poor and frustrated with life and somehow think attacking others especially those you consider rich will make you feel better. Really sad for you

Immediately I saw the header, I scrolled down to confirm that it was Richard that posted this rubbish. He’s the only one that has such gay tendencies. I’m wondering why this is on BN though. Uche why did you allow this? This promotes “Gayness” and I know Uche is a Christian. Rubbish!

    • kalalllalala

      May 20, 2016 at 6:53 pm

how does this promote gayness? Are you that illiterate any myopic? Did God say gay people should live under a rock? He hates homosexuality the way he hates fornication and adultery. Are you hidin? So why should EJ? Do you listen to Wizkid or Flavour or Davido who have babymamas? If yes, you promote babymama-rism and you’re ‘bad’ too, just like the rest of them. Have you ever liked the picture of any Nigerian celebrity here, if yes, then you promote fornication.

Stop being homophobic and love your neigbour as yourself. So much hatred coming out of people that claim the know God. You people will not comment when uche posts educative stuff only gossip. You that you want to it him how is your own life amebo.

    • Damilola

      May 21, 2016 at 1:39 am

Not agreeing with homosexual lifestyle doesnt equate to hate. The same way a fornicator, prostitute is judged, a liar and thief is judged is the same way gays should be judged. The disturbing part is, gays want to continue in their sin and make it acceptable like its the norm. I know, fornication is wrong and i feel guilty when i do it. I repented and turned away from that lifestyle. But gays are preaching its not wrong, its who I am.

    • Hmmmm

      May 21, 2016 at 9:04 am

Sister damilola What you and I need to worry about is removing the fat logs in our own eyes before trying to remove the speck in our neigbhour. Commendable that you repented from fornication but we still got to work on our hate filled, inciting comments on bella. After all we are supposed to be christ like and not like the scribes and pharisees who felt they held a monopoly on religion. Christ said not!. Bella blog is not a religious establishment we all come here for a bit of naughty gossip ( i think thats sinful too) Homos are not hurting anyone, therefore even though its not the life style some of us will approve of we can afford to be patient with them and leave their matter to God who sees inside the heart. It’s what lays in the heart that matters. Our mouths reveal what vices or virtues lay hidden in the heart. Whether it be love, hate, hypocrisy etc.. I would prefer to drink out of a cup that is clean both outside and inside but if that was not available I would take the one that is dirty on the outside and clean inside. An

Really BN, do you know your audience? Who is this supposed to inspire? I guess Richard is telling us there are men who dress worse than him. It’s no coincidence this is coming a week after we yabbed his horrible bum shorts. Call us homophobic, but we still don’t like your style. I can pick off the streets 10 ordinary Nigerian girls who will make better fashion editors than this clown.

There were gay men in the Bible, there were gay Ugandan kings when they killed the martyrs, and half of the world’s mainstream culture is Afro inspired. Abeg gerrout with your Hotep story. Agree or disagree, don’t promote lies.

  43. osato

    September 3, 2016 at 11:24 am

@Damilola, who set the rules that make-up is strictly for women? Aren’t women wearing agbada now? How about that? In fashion, there are no rules? If it works, that’s it. Gay men aren’t competing with women, they are the way they are. They wanna date men, not us. Btw, EJ has a great sense of fashion, ure just only gonna find it off, cus u still find gays and cross dressers weird. Meanwhile, I’m confused, is he gay, transgender or cross dresser.
