NDLEA Cracks down Meth Lab in AsabaNigeria is facing an emerging threat following the rise of illegal drug laboratories in the country as there is weaker enforcement, compared to Europe and the Americas.

According to the documentary, the local drug cartels in Nigeria are now forming alliances with their South American and European counterparts.

It also reported that 11 laboratories have been dismantled in the country in the last four years. The latest raid was carried out in a super methamphetamine laboratory in Asaba, Delta state. The laboratory has a capacity of producing between 3,000kg to 4,000kg of methamphetamine per production cycle. Click here to see the story.

Fighting the cartels involved in the running of these laboratories needs to be done quickly to prevent the nation and indeed West Africa from becoming the new production zone for drug Lords.
