Are Governors Really Going for a “Vocational Programme” in Germany?

Six governors from each geo-political zone of the country are concluding plans to attend a vocational programme in Germany.

According to PUNCH, the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) and Governor of Zamfara state, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari, said this to correspondents after the forum’s meeting in Abuja on Wednesday night.

“We received some presentations from the German ambassador prior to our trip to Germany for the vocational programme. We also received presentation from Vodacom. The firm made presentation on the areas we are going to partner such as in the areas of health and agriculture,” he was quoted as saying.

Following the development, Human Rights Activist, Femi Falana (SAN) blasted the governors, saying that it is “a decoy for summer vacation”.

“There are here enough solutions to the problems of the nation which the governors are not attending to. You said the country is broke, governors are embarking on jamboree to Germany.

We are going to appeal to the German authority not to give them visa so that they can stay at home and work. We will contact the German government not to be party to this wastage by the Nigerian government.

The Federal Government has just adopted about 147-page report on agriculture. How many of them have read the report? I think it’s just a decoy for a summer holiday,” he told PUNCH’s correspondent on the telephone.

Do they need this trip? Share your thoughts.

The Governors are Free to go wherever they want. As long as the Nigerian tax payers are not footing the bills. I believe any Nigerian Universities can offer them same vocational training for less. Our State governors should lead by example by patronizing institutions of higher learning within the Country to promote economic growth and development within Nigeria. instead of spending our meager resources to help boost he Germany’s economy and development. What happens to the “buy made in Nigeria products”slogan the Buhari administration has been preaching? Suddenly what is good for the Gessse is no longer good for the Gandees? .Ladies and gentlemen, this is a classic Nigerian Big man syndrome.
Nigeria economy is technically in recession, If any Nigeria governor travel to Germany for this vocational course, The Federal government of Nigeria should be waiting for them at the Airport only to take them to jail lock them up, until their family members come forward to payback the money. A word is enough for the wise. I ‘ m just saying.:

Found this definition of Vocational training online aptly describing those who are planning to go to Germany –
Vocational training is traditionally taken by pupils who failed to achieve the standards required to study for the baccalaureate ( bachillerato) and long discredited as only for those who aren’t bright enough to pursue an academic career.
