Supreme Court Nullifies Zamfara APC Primaries, PDP’s Mutawalle Set to Become Governor
The Supreme Court has nullified all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State in the 2019 General Elections.
Channels reports that Justice Adamu Galunje delivered the judgement which upheld the decision of the Appeal Court in Sokoto State which nullified the APC primaries in the state.
The decision was reached after a five-man panel led by the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad heard the case which was brought before the apex court by the APC Governorship candidate and state governor, Abdul’Aziz Yari.
The court held that the party with the highest number of votes cast at the election outside the appellants is the winner of the election.
With the decision, the PDP candidate in the guber poll Dr Bello Muhammad Mutawalle is set to become the state’s governor.
