“Discovering ABJ” is an original comedy-drama series about a warm-hearted rebel named Sewa, who upon landing her first “real” job with a prestigious NGO called Safe Haven Refuge for Women, promptly announces that she is quitting the family business in Lagos and moving to the nation’s capital city of Abuja.

Sewa’s brave and often comical journey reflects the hopes, challenges, and diversity of a new generation seeking to express and define itself in a changing world. Sewa invites us to join in her exploration of passion, heartbreak, and self-discovery, as well as the varied circumstances impacting women’s expressions of sexuality and personal agency.

She is an untameable twenty-something testing the bounds of #BeingFemaleInNigeria in the West African nation’s capital city of Abuja.

Season 1 consists of 8 episodes, and premiered online July 4, 2016.
