We still can’t get over what DJ Obi did, his achievement was so amazing!

In this chat with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu he opens up about everything that went on during the ten days that he was breaking the world record for longest DJ Set played in the world.

He talks about how it all started and how his initial plan was to play for four or six days and break the African record but when he applied for the Guinness Record his application was denied because they only did world records and then he started researching the previous world record.

He also talks about the many challenges he faced; like how he had to start peeing in bottles after a while because his bladder was just too full, how he was hallucinating, how he was at risk of falling asleep and never waking up because his system had been deprived of sleep for so long and more.

Through it all he kept pushing and kept going because the support was unlike anything he ever expected and he couldn’t stand to let everyone down.

He added that there was actually no alcohol involved for him while he was DJing and he also avoided heavy meals so that he wouldn’t go to the bathroom as much.

On why he stopped the DJing just a few days shy of his initial 240 hour plan he says on the 10th day he went to the bathroom and there was blood in his pee and he had to just come out and say “Guys, I’m done”.

Right now the tapes are with Guinness World Records as we wait for them to confirm the new record.

The interview is a must watch and it is unlike anything you’ve ever read.
