BN TV: Ladies, Stop #Kinging when You’re a Queen! – Watch Episode 4 of Get Pink with Richard

On this week’s episode of Get Pink With Richard, Richard Akuson talks about the #King #Kinging social media trend that women are jumping in on. He kind of speaks against it from his own point of view. He considers it “backward.” He says “you can be a queen and be a boss at it”. Here’s what he said;

Who says you have to be a king to be a powerful woman?

Remember Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons? That’s a woman that is unapologetically feminine, yet every bit a conqueror.

Moral lesson? You can be both a Queen and a Boss at it!

    Nothing wrong with Kinging. Historically, a queen is the wife of the King or the last option in a family that does not have a suitable male heir. Denaerys was not first choice for the heir to the throne remember? It was her imbecilic arrogant brother. Yes, the prophecy would have proved otherwise but… i digress. Look up the history and essence of feudal systems in the world., By definition Kinging is higher than queening. So you see the idea that a woman should be happy as a queen is what is backwards.
    Also, I get your point about it seeming like women are losing their femininity but i strongly support any which way Kinging or Queening and so should you Richard. You put a blog the other day about Gender issues and behaviour and your personal experience. I remember commenting and saying you should be free and live your truth. Well it goes both ways. A lot of the comments were also supportive of your story. You should understand that Gender is fluid and if a Girl wants to King instead of Queen more power to her. Leave girls alone to be what they want to be.

    Please hush. How about people label themselves however they see fit? There is no moral lesson ugh. This is the same person that was saying short shorts can be worn by guys, which they can. Don’t be so fluid with your gender alone.

    I totally agree with you. It’s becoming naseauting the way hitherto strictly male terms are being showered on we women, For crying out loud, what went wrong with being labelled a Queen. It is no longer enough abi? Or maybe, it is thought that being a queen is synonymous with being a second fiddle, hence the need to ‘kingify’ women. Whatever happened to the grace and charm coupled with inner grit and tenacity of purpose that queens were famed for. Biko, take everything that belongs to men, take their titles, their fashion, emasculate them as much as you care, but don’t wail when they become so feminised and mirrors your essence back. Don’t act the spoiler when they wish to wear wigs and strut in heels. Don’t cry wolf when your men equates being a man with being a woman since the lines are so blurred and there’s really no distinction. If being a queen is not enough, if you are too myopoic to notice that both own their thrones and play the game differently, if you keep getting greedy and refuse to leave the tiniest shred of identity for the men, then be ready to eat your pepper soup meat with your eyes wide open.
