On this week’s episode of ‘Conversations with Labo’, Labo Daniel had a conversation with BattaBox’s co-founder, Yemisi Ilo on how she has been able to fight unexpected challenges and live her life to the fullest despite all odds.

“People make assumptions of you if you’re in a wheelchair, that you’re not capable of doing stuff, so I feel like I need to meet them. When they meet me, they know that we can do this.”

She talks further on what to do and what not to do when your friend has a major ailment.

Nobody needs anyone to say, but you’re not better? …Is it worse than before?

Yemisi ends with what has sustained her through her fight with Multiple sclerosis.

This is the first time I’m watching Labo and my oh my, I love you! The body language alone made the conversation about the speaker, about Yemisi. Now…”how did it affect your marriage?” that question was a bit abrupt. We went from defining MS to marriage. I wanted to hear how it affected her career at the time, her life at the time, and then segue that to marriage–the Nigerian magnus opus.

This totally had me going kaka @ Naija and marriage magnus opus. Conversations goes deep into issues so for this one, I;ll give her a pass and blame it on the edit as there’s so much that can be packed into a 20 mins video. . Now if this happens in the next episode, then Labo I’m not with you anymore.

YEMISI, ONE LADY FULL OF LIFE, YOU LEFT ME IN STICHES WHEN YOU SAID NIGERIANS ARE GOOD AT MAKING THINGS WORK, THEY KNOW HOW TO WORK AROUND SITUATIONS, WHICH IS CRAP. I LAUGHED EHN!

Yemisi, do you have a support group of sorts? You need to show people how this is done. You are the definition of a super woman.
