On Episode 10 of ‘Conversations with Labo’, Actress, Producer, Drama instructor, Host, & Casting Director Lala Akindoju, Trail blazer award winner at AMVCAs 2016 talked primarily with Labo Daniel about mentorship.

Lala started out in the entertainment industry without knowing a single person, and is now friends with everyone who matters in the industry.

“I’m a hustler, I don’t quit, I don’t stop, I don’t take No’s, If I want something I will get it”.

She gives details on how she has been able to strategically position herself to work with some of the greatest minds in her industry such as: Tunde Kelani, Kunle Afolayan, Taiwo-Ajayi Lycett and Joke Silva.

“I don’t believe in asking for favours, I believe in getting there with the work, even when people started talking to me about PR, I was like, we can’t do PR for PR’s sake, It must be on the shoulders of the work.”

She also gives never been shared details on how she developed close knit mentorship relationships with achievers like Bolanle Austen-Peters, Jumoke Adenowo, Biola Alabi, Osayi Alile and Funke Bucknor-Obruthe.

“I’m an all or nothing person. Mentorship is like work, I believe one of the keys to greatness is mentorship”…Mentorship is not about frolicking with big women.

She also gives tips on how to network and her opinion on male and female best friend relationships.

This is the best celebrity interview I ever watched on Bella o. It’s not the same ole same ole wey we don hear tire about her next film, rumour has it or who she’s dating but about how she rose to the top on the wings of mentors while slipping details of her career and her relationship with OC Ukeje with class and style. Nice one

I remember seeing her in Wole Oguntokun’s production of ‘The Trials of Brother Jero’ and being simply blown away. She’s a force of nature, and watching this interview gives great insights into what makes her tick. Well done Labo and Lala.
