There is always a new fashion trend women in Nigeria adopt every day. Today, Battabox presenter Adeola has discovered a new trend – Eyebrow Tattoo.

“It is called temporary laali (henna) eyebrow,” says Timilehin, one of the eyebrow tattoo vendors.

Adeola visits the popular Yaba market in Lagos which is also known as the local fashion hub of Lagos, where ladies get themselves fashionable items to look pretty.

“This is a beauty place, everything can be done here,” Adeola says

In Yaba market you could get your hair done, nails, makeup, clothes, shoes, bags and what have you, you could even get a gap tooth in Yaba market. But the new trend now is ladies getting their eyebrows tattooed to save themselves the stress of drawing the perfect eyebrow.

“I prefer this one because it doesn’t take time,” says one lady

But what exactly is the difference in the tattooed eyebrow and the normal one drawn with pencil? Adeola asks the lady getting her eyebrows tattooed

“I’ve done it before, it lasted two weeks,” the lady explains.

Asian American women have been doing this for years actually. Its supposed to be stress free -as all they have to do is shave the hair there for maintenance. The only thing is eventually, the ink turns fades and turns to some kinda greyish-green making them long all kinds of cray! lol

This is called tinting …eyebrow tint. Not tattoo. This is not a new trend. Indians have been doing it for centuries .

We’ve been doing this in the Unites States for years. It is not a new trend. Also, the lady in the image just had it done, the beautician will still wipe it off with wipes and that will leave the tint looking perfect. There will be no need for eye pencils or pomade for about a week. So natural yet classy and easy. Absolutely!

Why are we quick to rubbish our local things? Henna has always been a safe body dye in fact it’s good for hair growth. If it’s pure henna being used I see no harm in this. Also if you go on YouTube you would see videos of Asian products similar to this which you paint on your brows for darker and well defined brows. Please let us appreciate our own and the efforts the put into their hustle. Team yaba beauty spa ?

Lool isn’t this how Nigerian women were judging ordinary contour and highlight? And eyebrows on fleek. All it takes is some white surgeon in London or LA to make it super expensive, then it will trickle down to our elites and finally many will join. Lol someone called it @low class, and that says a lot.
