Globally, the cancer incidence continues to rise, although in the more developed countries death rates from cancer is declining. This is due in part to prevention, early detection and better treatment. Unfortunately, this is not the case in many parts of the world especially in sub-Saharan Africa. For example, in Nigeria most of the cancer cases that are diagnosed are usually presented late.

October is the global Breast Cancer Awareness Month and CancerAware Nigeria, a Lagos based cancer intervention non-profit organisation has launched their breast cancer campaign tagged #WomenEverywhere

The goal of the campaign is two-fold;

  1. To encourage women in Nigeria to be more “breast aware” by doing regular breast self examinations and clinical breast examinations.
  2. To raise funds for the treatment of indigent women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Xclamations by Tomi Rotimi, a leading womenswear fashion brand in Nigeria is supporting the #WomenEverywhere campaign by donating proceeds from the sale of their Olori Turban in Pink. This is a functional piece that has become a delight to many women across the country by serving as a stylish piece for functions and also by making up for bad hair days.

You can purchase the Olori Turban in Pink at all Xclamations by Tomi Rotimi stores in Lagos.
