Bukie of Bukie’s Kitchen Muse is out with a new vlog and today she’s teaching us how to make baked sweet potatoes and gizzard.

She says “Hello Foodies, I want to share an interesting recipe using Sweet Potatoes. I’ve always wondered how many different ways one can cook sweet potatoes besides making it a porridge or frying and at the same time make it interesting, so i came up with a variation of the famous Gizdodo (Gizzard + Plantain). This version can be a main meal or an appetizer, it’s definitely a crowd pleaser. Be sure to try it when next you’re having friends or family over and see how pleased they will be. If you have any other ideas for sweet potatoes, please feel free to share. Thanks for stopping by. xoxo.”

Auntie Bukie, this is the first time i am watching a video of you. Could add some energy to your recording? It is all so laid back and i got bored. Smile, say something.

quick tip, If you do not have an oven to bake the potato, fry the potato slightly.

Why are sweet potatoes in nigeria white? The ones in the US are orange.

Are the orange ones in nigeria?

There are two types. Both varieties are sold in most places around the world.

There are different species of sweet potatoes, we mostly get the white ones in Nigeria. Some parts of the world get the yellow or the purple ones.
