BellaNaija’s got a Valentine gift for you! Here’s how to win a FREE ticket to attend the “Money: What’s love got to do with it?” Seminar with Nimi Akinkugbe & Ibiai Ani

Hello BellaNaijarians!

Valentine’s Day is just a few hours away and we’ve got a special gift for you and your partner!

Here’s an opportunity to attend the “Money: What’s love got to do with it?” seminar with Nimi Akinkugbe and Ibiai Ani.

Are you single and wondering how to talk to a future partner about money?

Are you frugal and dating an extravagant spendthrift?

Are you dating someone who is secretive about money matters?

Are you going into marriage without having discussed money matters?

Do you and your partner often argue about money?

Are you married and in debt but never talk about it?

Are you embarking on a “late in life” second marriage with some baggage

Whether you are in a serious relationship, just recently married, or have been married for several years, money matters can be controversial if not handled with sensitivity.

When two people become a couple they confront a myriad of financial choices and decisions.

Are you engaged? How much do you know about your partner’s financial situation?

After the excitement of the wedding ceremonies, it will be time to face your financial future together.

Remember it should be “till death do us part” and not “till debt do us Part”

Navigating this somewhat sensitive issue is important because financial problems can strain relationships to breaking point and have been cited as a major cause of friction, separation and divorce, yet most couples go into marriage without ever broaching this subject.

It may not be romantic, but it is important.

This and much more will be discussed on February 18th 2017.

We have one ticket to give a couple the opportunity to attend this event.

Don’t worry, if you’re not in a relationship or married, you are free to enter the competition and come with your friend.

One ticket admits 2 people.

What do you need to do?

Tell us a story that highlights the importance of having the money talk with one’s partner, and you stand a chance of winning the ticket.

I and my bae have issues about certain finances. When our twins arrived almost two years ago, we got a lot of money given to them. I tried to get him to open an account for them then but he never accepted to and the money was spent on house keeping. Till today, the issue is still on. The kids will be two years in August and no money is being saved for their future. They started school last month and we had to pay their fees from our monthly salaries. We all know school fees for kids is really high now. I feel we should save up for them and when needed take from there to sort out financial issues. All discussions on this with him hits a stonewall. This saddens me to the extent that I decided this month to get it done myself. I already have the account forms. I have resolved this will happen even if he is not on board.

Are you frugal and dating an extravagant spendthrift?
Do you and your partner often argue about money?
My answers to these questions are yes, definitely I need the conference
I think it is super important to have the money talk, at all stages of your relationship. To be honest I’m more of the mindset that lets save and invest and he has the opinion that money would always come and all so we can spend it while its here.
Sometimes I believe there is a knowledge gap, because we have long talks about money, savings and investment. And I’m not a party to eating my future investment now. Since I’m with the man I want to spend forever with I think this seminar would be great for both of us,for more knowledge and understanding because we really need it.
