Over the past few days, Tiwa Savage has been making Nigeria proud with high profile appearances and a major performance at the Essence Magazine event in Los Angeles.

CNN African Voices recently interviewed the Nigerian music star and she gave them a look into her life before the bright lights and superstardom.

From her primary school – University of Lagos Staff School to her family church – Methodist Church City Mission in Surulere where she began nurturing her singing career.
