Our favourite Cameroonian here on BN Cuisine, Precious Nkeih is back with three new recipes for familiar dishes made her way, the Cameroonian way. Today we have, fish pie, fish pepper soup and drop doughnuts. Want to see how our African neighbours make these dishes? See them below!

Cameroonian Fish Pie

There is nothing like perfectly baked fish pie! Nothing! This video is all about how to make Cameroonian fish pie. Watch me make the most delicious fish filling and the perfect flaky crust. These pies are everything!! Enjoy!

Ingredients

For the dough

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (360 g) plus 2 tablespoons for dusting
  • 12 tablespoons unsalted butter ( 1 1/2 cups or 12 tablespoons) – the butter should be softened
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

For the filling

  • 2 tins of sardines in oil (125 g each)
  • 1 medium carrot – shredded
  • 2 stems green onions – chopped
  • 1/2 a small onion – chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves – minced

Cameroonian Fish Pepper Soup

This hot and delicious fish pepper soup gets ready in under an hour! There’s no reason why you shouldn’t make some. Hope you enjoy watching!

Ingredients

  • 2 large tilapia fish
  • 1/2 medium onion
  • 5 cloves garlic – peeled
  • 1-inch ginger – peeled
  • 1 sprig parsley
  • 1 sprig celery
  • 1 sprig basil
  • 1 African nutmeg (ehuru/nutmeg) – peeled optional
  • 30 seeds Njangsa (Cameroonian pepper soup spice) optional
  • 1 habanero (hot) pepper
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 3 small cubes Maggi
  • Salt to taste

Cameroonian Doughnuts (Drop Doughnuts)

These drop doughnuts are literally the easiest things you will ever make! You only need about 30 minutes and a handful of ingredients then deliciousness will be served 🙂 .

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour (360 g)
  • 6 tablespoons margarine – levelled (or softened butter)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup liquid milk
  • 1 teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (200 g)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • Oil for frying – I used canola
