Mercy Aigbe Gentry urges everyone to “Say no to Domestic Violence”

In a not-so-cryptic post shared on her social media page an hour ago, Nollywood actress and producer Mercy Aigbe Gentry urged everyone (especially her Instagram followers) to say no to domestic violence.

In the past couple of days the actress’ marriage has faced a lot of scrutiny with speculations of domestic violence and while Mercy Aigbe’s husband Lanre has spoken out a few times to deny the allegations on his Instagram page, the actress herself has stayed clear of the rumours.

She has however spoken up about domestic violence in general on two occasions in the past few days. The first time, she posted a photo of a domestic violence victim and captioned “Say NO to DOMESTIC VIOLENCE……Only a Coward hits a woman! REAL MEN don’t HIT! Repost if you concur”. Today she also posted another photo of a domestic violence victim and used the hashtag “#Saynotodomesticviolence”.

On his own page, a few hours after Mercy shared the first domestic violence post three days ago, her husband Lanre posted (and deleted) a photo with a caption about how women should not be promiscuous. He also posted a photo of himself and Mercy and captioned “I love my wife so much”.

Even though Mercy has stayed clear of addressing the rumours, she has continued to share her daily activities with her fans on social media, including going to church yesterday.

I love the way you wrote this post, BN. Very objective. You didn’t say things as if you were there when it happened, like other blogs. I guess that’s why you didn’t write on it even when other blogs were going over themselves to put up the Juiciest details. Nice, BN!

That said, under her eyes look like she has a swelling. She used concealers to try to hide it though.

Mercy, I hope the compliments and likes on instagram are worth the pretence.

Tired of all this female victim mentality. Instead of marrying someone you can grow with, u look for moneybag. When he starts treating you like his property you start complaining.
Naija women need to get their priorities right, do you want a partner that you can grow with and actualize your dreams or do you want to be trophy wife? Money alone clearly can’t buy happiness.

@Deji the ones you decide to “grow with” are the most vicious abd violent ones. Please if you don’t have anything I say, shut your violent mouth up. A man shouldn’t hit a woman, whether young or old

@Deji, grow with or money bag as stated above……….if a man is a beast there is absolutely nothing you can do about that. The ones you grow with are even the worse cos when money land that na when bros go no say you too short, too dark, not busty enough, bum too flat, breast don fall and so on…..then flirting/lie go start in pursuit of the boosty. e.g. working late at the office everyday (lie), official traveling like every other weekends (lie), carrying phones upandan even when in the bathroom “side chic” (lie). When wife notice all of this and she spark, then he go give her the beating of her life………anyway, all is well!!!!!!
