Kemi Ezenwanne, a Lagos based Nigerian Doctor who is also a top model, had her adorable twins and the story will leave you thankful for her.
In a series of Instagram posts, she narrates how she found out she was pregnant one month after her wedding and how she later found out in November 2016 that she was going to have twins.
She said she was so elated and although she had an easy first trimester, she soon had her fair share of the pregnancy pains when they found multiple fibroids degenerating few days to her 14th week. The discovery landed her in a hospital bed.
She later got better and the pregnancy progressed as expected.
However, during her visit to the doctor for a regular checkup this week, she was told there was a dip in the heartbeat of one of the babies and that they had to deliver them immediately.
She mentioned that the doctor in her wanted to freight when she was told the figures, but she remembered that she had been participating in the #HalleluyahChallenge by Nathaniel Bassey and got the confidence that God was going to show up for her and the babies.
Sharing the exciting news to her Instagram family, she confirmed that both her boys have been birthed and are doing great, just as she is as well.
Here is her story as posted on her Instagram page:
The Journey for me began on the first day of @lfdw_ng last year. We were having fittings when the email came in that has changed my life FOREVER. I looked at my HCG figures and they stared back at me high hitting the roof indicating that my suspicions were confirmed. I WAS PREGNANT!!!. I ran, jumped, then remembered I wasn't supposed to be jumping because new life was growing in me. And then I made the call. "Baby, we're Pregnant". I wasn't sure what lay in the days ahead but I couldn't wait to experience it all. #MemoirsOfaPregnantWoman #HawtOrNot #ItdoesntMarraWatchuThink #MyHusbandCallsMeSexyPreggy
I waited for the morning sickness, spitting, nausea, vomiting et al. My first trimester came to an end without me experiencing nothing. I remember telling hubby he was having it too easy. I wanted to be one of those that would wake their husbands up in the middle of the night with insatiable cravings of oven baked elephant ears, and fried antelope intestines??? But still I had none of those. Shortly into my second trimester however, I had an experience that reminded me of the saying, "Be careful what you wish for". It was a few days into my 14th week when the pain started that landed me in the hospital. I couldn't stand. They had found multiple fibroids that were degenerating and causing me so much pain. It seemed like all I had been taught in med school didn't even make sense. I remember asking God to preserve my life on one night I thought I was going to die. I listened to ONISE IYANU by Nathaniel Bassey over and over again before I could sleep. Crossed into 2017 in a hospital bed with needles that only numbed the pain for a few hours but GOD SAVED ME and the precious life he put in there. Then I knew that indeed we would eat the fruit of our lips like God's word says. Hubby asked me again after I got out, "Dyu still want to show me pepper during this pregnancy?" Of course you already know my answer? #MyPregnancyJourney #MemoirsOfaPregnantWoman ? @thetapstore ? @giggle_lagos
Please slide left? Baby Zaddy? I remember how you practically freaked out a month after our wedding when I told you We were Pregnant. How could I have done these days without you? You have spoken life to me and our bump. Broken bread with me almost every morning, and loved me through my emotional highs and lows. You even agreed to do pregnancy shoot??? No long stories here. You know my heart!!! Let's keep it for Father's Day next week ?❤️ ? @giggle_lagos
Sometime in November 2016. This is surreal. I can't believe it! I sincerely cannot believe this! I thought it was just you. My dear little one… What did the doctor ask again? He had just began the ultrasound. It's my first ultrasound. You're only just 9weeks 3days old today. He asked, "Is there any history in your family?" I thought I didn't hear well. He couldn't be talking of twins even though the doctor in me knew damn right what he was talking about. I asked, "how dyu mean"? He said, "you're expecting twins". I scream. This is unbelievable. I only just discussed with your dad yesterday morning about the possibility. We joked about it. It was ONLY a joke really. No wonder my abdomen was rising rapidly. Now I understand my obsession with Ava and Alexis @mccluretwins No wonder I'm always hungry, and eating every 3hours. I want to cry! Tears of joy! How has God blessed me this much? I see both of you on the scan, so tiny, and in different sacs chilling. The doctor said you're dichorionic, meaning there's a possibility you might not be identical. I don't care at this point! I'm having twins! A boy and a girl, two girls or two boys, whatever, you're both my blessings from God. Can we take a moment to appreciate Him?
What was supposed to be a rescheduled doctors' visit, turned out to be the same day the doctor announced to me that we had to get them both out. He had me checked and told me one of them had a dip in the Heart Rate. When I was given the figures, the alarm went off in the head of the "doctor" in me but I remembered that OLÓWÓGBOGBORO HAD HIS ARMS STRETCHED OUT IN MY FAVOUR. I had joined the #HallelujahChallenge by @nathanielblow and had trusted God for so many things. My babies in the womb and I praised God with the rest of the world. Why won't God show up? Many questions have gone through my mind since my boys showed up. What if we had gone earlier? Or later? The fetal heart deceleration would not have been picked. The American doctor that attended to me walked towards my head and told me, "God ordered your steps here because I have no regrets bringing these babies out today". I don't know if he's a believer or not, but if my God chooses to reveal Himself, who am I? And for those asking if I had a Hebrew Woman delivery? Yes I did because mother and babies are fine. Father has recovered!? MY BOYS ARE HERE!!! Welcome to the world Kainyechukwu and Kaitochukwu. You'll forever be praising God. I'm humbled!!! #MyHallelujahChallengeTestimony #ShoutItontherooftops #Mamabomboys
