Watch Osinbajo joke about challenging Saraki & Dogara being a suicide Mission

A video shared by the Acting President Professor Yemi Osinbajo on Facebook has shown the moment he joked about the futility of any attempt by him to threaten the national assembly given the combined physical size of its principal officers Bukola Saraki and Yakubu Dogara compared to his.

Osinbajo was speaking at the opening ceremony of the 16th Commonwealth Speakers and Presiding Officers Conference, Africa Region which held at the ECOWAS Parliament Complex in Abuja.

“I don’t know the experience, of presiding officers from other nations present, of the portrayals by the press of the relationship between the executive and the legislature.

Here in Nigeria what makes the news is the conflict between the executive and the legislature. The more dramatic the alleged conflict the more newsworthy. There’s something about rumours of us wrangling and quarreling that always seems to catch and hold the attention of our friends in the traditional and social media.

If you closely follow the news here for example, you will regularly be confronted – especially in recent weeks – by ‘Exclusive’ and ‘Breaking News’  reporting  of several different stories of conflict between the executive and the legislature.

A particularly intriguing report said “Acting President threatens National Assembly leadership”!

Now anyone who sees the combined size of the distinguished Senate President and the Rt. Hon. Speaker compared to mine must know that it would be a suicide mission to threaten either of these two gentlemen let alone both of them,” Osinbajo had said.

We should all know Mr vice President is a professor and must always support his point with phrases and jokes for more and better understanding, e.g jollof rice. Good Job sir.

The vice president who is now the acting president has got the total package to be the president. He should run whenever is his turn to run. If given the opportunity, he will transform Nigeria. We can see what he has done in 2 years. Others in Lagos had seen what he did when he was the attorney general of Lagos State. I have known him from youth, maybe around 50 years ago. I know him big time. He is qualified to rule the country.
