The awards were not the only things shining at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards show. American singer and songwriter Katy Perry was the host of the highly anticipated show and stole the night with her seven edgy outfits.
It was definitely a great night for the singer who hosted, performed her new song Swish Swish with Nicki Minaj and was nominated for five awards.
Her arrival look was immaculate, she strutted on the blue carpet wearing a gorgeously detailed Stéphane Rolland Couture Dress; one-half of the dress was sleek and easy with a shoulder cape. While the sultry and strapless, leading to a plunging neckline. Her accessories were simple and beautiful including earrings and rings by jewelry brand Yeprem.
Her quirky second outfit came with a grand entrance. Katy was let down from the roof in an astronaut suit with a nude top inside.
For a more demure look, Katy Perry changed a third time into a dazzling silver dress with a daring slit and shiny silver pumps.
Another shimmering outfit for the night, Katy Perry changed into a tiger striped gold and black turtle neck dress with bold earrings.
Her lengthy embellished dress had heads turn as it complimented some of her best features and had a very sexy side slit.
If you thought she was over with sequined dresses for the night, you were wrong. Her next shimmery blue dress look featured a baby in a carrier. Not just an outfit, it was a costume for a pre-rehearsed monologue. It appears the look was inspired by the series A Handmaid’s Tale.
Channeling a character from Game of Thrones she donned a gothic cloak, with blonde hair carrying a cute puppy wearing a bat’s costume.
Trust Katy to be dressed in something as bizarre as a bedazzled basket ball costume and still look like a million bucks. She took the stage to perform her collaborative single, Swish Swish with Nicki Minaj. It was a very entertaining performance with giant basketballs and Katy Perry swinging all around the stage.
