Omolara Aluko, a family planning and contraception educator was the winner of this year’s “120 Under 40,” announced by the Bill and Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health.
The award recognizes a new generation of family planning leaders, who have contributed immensely in bringing to the awareness of the general public, the benefits of family planning.
Omolara, a team member of DKT Nigeria, has been particularly instrumental in the national development and implementation of radio and TV programs that discuss family planning and contraception in a refreshing, interesting and interactive manner.
These radio and TV programs provide valuable information about various contraceptive methods, address side effects management and debunk contraceptive myths and misconceptions.
