How come our only options are Buhari & Atiku? - Charly Boy

As the 2019 presidential elections beckon with each passing day, aspirants are beginning to make moves to indicate their interest. This has created a debate on social media in recent times especially with the recent decamping of Atiku Abubakar from APC to PDP. The debate is on who the better option is between Atiku and current president Muhammadu Buhari.

Political activist Charly Boy is however of a different opinion. He believes we have an abundance of young talent in Nigeria and should not limit ourselves to just Atiku & Buhari.

Exactly my thot! we mustn’t limit our options to just Buhari and Atiku…IMHO, I think atiku just wants to taste that power that goes with the office and further better his interest and Buhari is just stale and lacks direction. We need neutral, younger and fresher minds because to me, these two are just taking their beef to another level at the expense of Nigerians!!

Hi Charley boy, I haven’t watched your video yet, but I’ve been thinking. We need a strategy. The youth need to get involved in grassroots politics. Empower the youth to run for local government chairmen/women, councilors, House of Representatives, senatorial seats. This is where the powers lie in government. Whether old or young president, if two thirds of the house or senate (correct me if I’m wrong) does not support a change in policy, there will be no progressive change in government. The local Government is responsible for roads, healthcare, security, etc Nobody questions what the LGs use the money allocated to them to do. This is the government body that is supposed to provide the most basic amenities to the people. Our senate and house are riddled with the most nonprogressive vultures the earth has ever imagined. In each LG or state who can you appoint to support the interest of progressive thinkers? Our mumu don do movement can provide us with a comprehensive list of LGs in this country and who the current vultures are who are reaping us dry. And blacklist them for life if their constituency does not meet up. Same for senators and reps. I have been trying to come up with such a list, but I’m not on ground. Also one thing we should never forget youth does not equal progressive thinker o. But I believe we have more progressives and innovators in the youth. It’s time for some strategic planning.

You will need a non-refundable administrative fee of one million naira to register a party in Nigeria.
