Torera and Rotimi’s Seaside Wedding in Dubai + Fun Pre-Wedding Shoot #HappilyEverAfterGeorge

BBN Wonderland bride and lifestyle blogger Torera of DIYdose tied the knot with her beau Rotimi in a romantic seaside wedding in Dubai.

The couple met through Rotimi’s cousin who felt they were a great fit for each other. Four years of long distance relationship,  lots of love and a chicken recipe later,  they decided to say I Do! In case you missed their sweet love story, read here.

Torera and Rotimi’s white wedding was an intimate one. This gave the bride, who runs a DIY YouTube channel, DIYdose, an amazing opportunity to make things more personal by undertaking several DIY projects like her hair, shell-shaped program fans, cocktail tags and wedding favours (candles, beard oil and lip balms).

The bride Torera exclusively shared with us why they decided to have a destination wedding in Dubai.

Dubai… Our First Love

The question many people asked us was “Why Dubai? Dubai holds many special memories for us.

In 2015, we visited for the first time together to celebrate my birthday and it was by far one of the best memories of our relationship.

We had both dreamed of a very intimate wedding, which we knew would be difficult to execute in Nigeria. So we managed to convince our very Nigerian parents that a destination wedding was the best idea – you don’t want to know how that went. Apart from the sentimental value the city held for us, Dubai seemed to be the most convenient location for us Nigerians. We appeased our parents by having the traditional ceremony in true Owambe style – on a Tuesday.

Our event planner, Ayeesha of 3A Events, helped us find this beautiful Thai resort called Anantara on the Palm Jumeirah. Although we were not able to visit the resort until the wedding, from the videos Ayeesha sent us, we fell in love with the scenery at night and varied food options on offer. Impressions by Makabis did such an incredible job in adding more character and life to an already stunning venue.
